Sky/EasyNet LLU - Different ISP?

In July my exchange got enabled for Sky/Easynet LLU. I am happy with my current provider but looking at reviews, Sky and LLU looks ok and it is almost half the price. The only downfall is the 12 month contract if something does go wrong.

Is there by any chance that this LLU from Easynet is available with other ISP's that may do a 1 month contract?

I did some research and turned up this.

No indication that plusnet actually went with it though.

If it's any help, quidco have got a potential £50 cashback on sky broadband + sky talk without TV for new to sky customers. http://www.quidco.com/sky/. You might also want to check topcashback as I think they've upped their cashback to compete with quidco and done away with membership fees). Best to delete cookies before using a cashback in case you have any referral cookies from another source.

Not sure that sky Talk is a great idea though...

Yeah, I would like to keep my BT line incase I want to move back to standard 8 mb.

Thanks for the advice though. Looks like a good site to use for other stuff.

You can actually use the search/compare feature on our ISP listings to find providers supplied by Easynet, but you'll only come up with UK Online (not taking new consumer subs and owned by Sky) and Sky itself.

Got Sky Broadband and SkyTalk with line rental, although you can take just the Sky Talk service and keep your line rental with BT but beware that this may push the costs up since BT are more expensive. On the other hand taking Sky's line rental will make it hard to switch if you don't like the service. I have been happy but experiences do vary, as with any ISP.

IMO it's a good service and the fact you can have it without needing a SkyTV subscription is good. Just remember to get the Sky Unlimited package because anything else is a bit more risky. Sadly, with most of the big providers, if you want to save money then that usually means being locked into a long contract.

Just remember that most people often only run into problems when their phone line or broadband service has a history of issues, in situations like that it's often better to choose a smaller and higher quality ISP that actually has engineers for support staff.

Very true. I have been with 3 ISP's. 2 years ago or so with AOL on LLU. That was actually really good. Never lost connection a single time. Then I moved to o2 Access which was....... dreadful. I finally got a mac code after complaining to ISPA after 5 months and then moved to ADSL24. Was Entanet and now MurphX. Been perfect and sure it has disconnected afew times but support is great and it is so easy to customise my line. Thinking about it I am happy spending double the amount for assurance of 1 month and great support.

Obviously if Be/02 had enabled exchange I would have instantly jumped over.... I can wish. I just wish providers would recheck exchanges for population growth every like 6 months. In the past year the population here has probably increased by about 2,000 bringing the exchange to 8,000+ or so. They had to build 2 new schools to cope. Untapped market the Scottish area. ;)
