So my street has just been dug up for FTTP (cannot wait). My property is one of the furthest away from the exchange, so my speeds are truly dreadful with FTTC.
My ISP is Sky...it actually works well with a VPN for certain services and my own mesh system. When I upgrade, I'm going to have to upgrade to the Sky FTTP as my contract is quite new.
Does anyone know if the FTTP sky service will still use the MER authentication? When I get FTTP, I'm going to want to set up my own home network, so will want to buy a cable modem to connect to the BT equipment and build my LAN from that. I haven't yet found a specific MER compatible cable modem, so I'm hoping FTTP doesn't support MER.
