slow death

Have been with my ISP -namesco about three years and last year my average speed over the period 20/06/07 to 26/09/07 was 2568 and 374 now its 1450 and 373.Am I being slowly strangled since the sale of NDO or is it, as they say nothing to do with them? I have in the past been very happy with them just cant help feeling that i am being squeezed on speed and I don't download much

Any suggestions where i can take my three accounts - mine , sisters and granddaughter?

thanks

Have you spoken to NDO/Namesco?

I used them a while back (some family members still do) and I think their support dept is actually pretty good.

Yes i have but just get fobbed off . I have exactly the same kit as last year and yes their support was very good which is why i have stayed with them but seems to me that they know more than they are admitting to . It might just be BT but as we are a smallish rural exchange and from which I have only twice been able to get 3.meg +. I don't expect too much and i don't want to move unless i have to. just wondering whether anybody else has had similiar problems including being billed 4 times for one months rental last month - since sorted

I agree with akbray - check with tech support.

I've been a Namesco/NDO customer since the last century. Not noticed any recent problems with speed or indeed anything else.

Been with them since 2003 . Apart from now paying £14.95p per month as opposed to £24.99p when I started , I have not noticed anything different .

Given the feedback above I'd say that its more likely to be a problem with your line or line profile, since I assume you're on an 'up to' 8Mbps (MAX) service. Perhaps if you paste your router stats then we can help diagnose the problem? Likewise you might want to consider removing the front cover of your BT faceplate and plugging directly into the test socket behind. This may improve your performance after a week or so and then you’d just need to buy a filtered faceplate to replace it.
