Slow upload speed with a 5G Router in 5Ghz band

Been asking the same in other threads
I live in Greece and I just bought a ZTE MC801a 5G sim router to use it as hot spot.
I bought also a new ASUS PCE-AX3000 WiFi 6 adapter for my 4-5 years old I5, 32GB ram Desktop
The router placed indoors of course 4 meters away (no walls between) from my desktop
Testing speeds with the 5GHZ band, i found out that my Desktop reaches 13 Mbps average uploading speeds while the same time from the same spot my smartphones (Huawei P40 pro - Vivo X70 pro plus), in flight mode, connected via Wifi of course to the router reached 50Mbps average uploading speeds, and sometimes topped at 70+ Mbps. Same lame uploading speed i reached even with my almost new I5 laptop. Downloading speeds are almost equal to any device in any test.
I tried too many combinations, played with router's 5G settings, but every time upload speed cannot go over 15 Mbps.
I turned off firewall but nothing.
Is it protocols, DNS settings, what?
Any given ideas are more than welcome....

Those are two good phones you have there but still a bit weird for the difference to be that significant. The 2.4ghz test might be worth trying for comparison.

At least your pings are fairly impressive! Those speeds are plenty good enough for most use-case scenarios.

but what if you know you can get a lot more and something holds it back. That's what I'm trying to find. And you know, i send to clients large files of works (300, 500 mb or even a TB) so uploading is something it bothers me a lot

then I would maybe use the smartphone as a hot spot...to upload
 
I fully understand, I'm sure most of us would be the same too! How would using the phone as a hotspot improve the upload speed from pc/laptop? Maybe try that wifi6 internal card for your laptop that Troy suggested earlier(if it fits yours), cheaper than the USB dongle you suggested.

If the battery were to degrade it's not to hard to fit a new one, so I wouldn't let that put you off.
 
In my experience, the only PC WiFi 6 cards that work properly are the one with an Intel chipset (ie AX200/210).

That said, look for updated drivers for your card from chipset manufacturer (not from Asus).

Been searching in the internet for solutions, I saw that somewhere written, and i installed this driver from the 2nd day. Unfortunately nothing happened, that's why I ended up here asking for help.... Thank you for replying anyway. From what I see after numerous of tests with different settings, the upload through windows reaches max 25% of the real upload speed capabilities from ZTE router. (based on my area 5G coverage)
The question is for ZTE router holders, does anyone use PCE card in his Desktop, what card is this and what uploading speed did he measure in comparison to his smartphone.
 
Is it possible the Mobile company (eg. in my case: Greece Cosmote) recognizes from the MAC address that it has to do with desktop (anyway not a smartphone) and sets limits to upload speed?

The upload speed is identical both in 4G and 5G network from PC and Laptop. An it is always approximately the 25% of the uploading speed i measure in smartphones. It is insane and if my area reaches 70+ Mbps uploading speeds, I cannot understand why it may exist any limitation for non smartphone machines.
 
What I am suggesting is to locate the optimum spot for 4G because that is what controls your upload speed. Location and orientation can be quite sensitive for many mobile routers. Even turning it through 180 degrees can have an effect on signal levels. Another possibility is that your router isn't aggregating the best 4G bands for speeds. If you can find out what bands your phone is using and lock the router to the same ones.

Looking at those two results, they seem to be connecting to different servers.
The result on your phone was connected to EASY by Europlanet Athens while the desktop was GRNET Athens.

Try manually changing the server on the desktop to EASY by Europlanet to see if it makes any difference.
