yeah it should pick it up i used Huawei P40 Pro i was right near the mask due to poor 5g Coverage area but its getting betterHmm, I just got a smarty sim today, will take it by a 5G mast later and see what happens.
Can you select an option such as prefer 5G? I have mine selected as prefer 4G. Just wondered if it would make a difference.Would love if you could share some screenshots of CellMapper or Network Signal Guru, I took the Smarty SIM around 2 5G tested locations today and no 5G, maybe your on a trial list.
Does NR/LTE not work?Due to the nature of the current 5G setup, it is basically just LTE with added NR SDL, so no way that connect to 5G without LTE.
My device allows my to select NR only but this don't connect to anything.

Maybe i know this is done with giffgaff; each O2 SIM has its own sort of 'Code'. If you have an older SIM the 2 will most likely be a 1. O2 Contract is 4GPp2, O2 Pay&Go is 4GPg2, O2 Pay Monthly Mobile Broadband: 4GBb2, Pay&Go Broadband: 4GPb2 and finally giffgaff is 4GGg2.I wonder if some Smarty sims are being seen as Three PAYG on Three's network?
I spoke to Smarty recently about 5G trials and they said non are happening yet, they are trialing the account app though.
Not the experience I've had. They usually have replied to me in >1 hour (Worst case), mostly >10 minutes.SMARTY CS take days to respond.
I notice though that this is a device running stock MIUI which is a ROM supported by 3. I've noticed that if something works with three, it works with SMARTY. Goes for WiFi call, VoLTE etc so maybe 5G too.More sightings of 5G on Smarty
Haha I do except from on Samsung. I absolutely hate the way Xiaomi make you unlock your bootloader etc and you don't have to do any of that on Samsung plus I just hate both touchwiz and OneUIHmm, I'll have to look into that, though I don't run stock roms lol
I tried it with my Xiaomi and it said I had to wait 2 months like wtf how hard is itYeah was an extreme process having too wait days to unlock
Yup I know, along with the fact it wipes your phone. I was weighing up whether I should do it or not so I could root. There was more negatives than positives so I decided against it.They just want to discourage you from it, it's not a technical issue.
