Smarty B32?

Band 20 and 32 share the same radio in most if not all setups as far as I'm aware, it should bond with band 3/1 too but think it depends on the mast/radio configs and also whether three might be trying to manage traffic based on distance from mast maybe.

Personally I think they just got morons dealing with configs for CA and it's hit and miss in a lot of places.
Well I just tried it again JP and it did indeed aggregate with band 3 this time, it wouldn't do it this morning.

Band 1 does aggregate with band 32 as well.

Still on 30/20 though, that seems to be cast in stone. 😊

Hmm, wonder if the network/radio is struggling to recognise compatibility cross radio.
No idea what's happening JP, as long as it works, I'm not too fussed about CA.☺️

As above, (ie. Morons)

As Three use Band 3 as a primary anchor I recon they are trying to move traffic away from it,

Recently it seems like they push traffic to B1 where possible and also pair in B32 with B20 sitting on standby for VoLTE.

But all seems to be changing all the time and no one place is the same as the other which seems to make the network so unreliable it is funny.
When I said "3CA" I was referring to having 3 bands in aggregation at once, which I believe isn't something that Three has deployed on a widespread basis.

Like I said B3+B32 works 24/7 for me.
B20+B32 works intermittently.
B1+B32 doesn't work for me all (at least it didn't the last time I tried a few weeks ago)

It does seem very hit or miss depending on which part of the country you're in!

For Huawei, B20 and B32 use the same model of RRU (RRU 3501), but if setup in 4x4 then they are separate units - they only have 4 outputs so need 3x units for 3 sectors of 4x4 B32 + 3x units for 3 sectors of 4x4 B20.

For Ericsson, assuming deploying 4x4, then their B32 RRUs (ERS 2012) only support 2 outputs, so 6 are needed for a site with 4 sectors for 4x4 B32. The ERS 2460 Ericsson RRU is used for B20/B28 (I don't actually know the number of outputs...)

It's strange that you're not seeing an increase in download speeds with B32 enabled , maybe Smarty are throttling your connection!
Bet you won't be happy with 30/20 when your new pole of wonder goes live😂

Hi Martin.S,

Nah, my results are identical with the 3 sim, nothing I do ever goes above 30, think it must just be the backhaul.

Talking about my pole of wonder, they've all cleared out, not a thing there at the moment except a right muck hole.

We've had torrential rain all night and day here, so hopefully just a weather problem and not that three have changed their mind which would be unthinkable.

I don't beleive B32 operates at 4x4 or 4x0 even?? atleast I've never discovered any devices up to now that supports 4 streams on B32... also the same for B20.....

Or was you reffering too the duo acting together,
The masts are 4x4 enabled for B32, but you're right, devices generally don't support more than 2x2 themselves. That doesn't mean there is no benefit though; 4x4 on a mast helps things on cell edge as well as aids capacity (2 devices can use 2 streams each).

Also as crazy as it seems Three do/did used to also deploy B20 4x4 too...

Edit: Peters screenshot of NSG on the 'Huawei' tab here shows B32 4x4 and connected to all 4 streams too!

Two lots of b32 from SMARTY
