SNR margin

Is it usual for the SNR margin to go up and down as shown

on Routerstats.

I seem to remember it going in a straight line previously.

Hi,

It is perfectly normal for the SNR margin to fluctuate a bit thats why it isnt set at 1-3db which would get you faster speeds, the profiles are 6db 9db 12 db and 15db all with or without interleaving.

There are two strong dips of -5 from peak to bottom that I can see, which would worry me a bit. However they do not go below 8db and you don't seem to notice any pauses/drops in your service so I would not worry.

If you start seeing big dibs that go below 7 or even 6db then, depending on your line, that can sometimes cause annoying pauses in your connection. Buying a better router or having your ISP limit the maximum profile/sync speed can usually help bring back some stability but so far you are in no danger.

The upstream fequences are lower in the band and are less prone to fluctuations but for it to be at 15 is quite low whats your routers dsl stats
