Sounds good :)

Thats cheaper than IPStream ADSL AND its symmetrical :D

Wish it was all over the place rather than just in certain areas, I would certainly have it if it was in my area :)

In theory. At present they only own the distribution Network in the Hydro Electric Area & Southern Electric are. They also own Midland Electric and SWALEC but not the actual distribution network.

They could of course reach agreements with any of the REC's.

Possibly Midlands and SWALEC areas might be next in their line of sight.

I would not expect any full scale rollout untill the new EU Broadand Standard is issued (It covers any form of Broadband (Wireless, ADSL. PLC, Cable). Untill the exact requirements of this are known I think it will remain in the trial stage.

The pricing is quite attrictive for symetrical 1Mbs but Broadband is very price sensitive and that may be a bit high to really attract people. They may need to offer a 512Kbs service at a lower price & perhaps even 256Kbs. This should be able to provide a Broadband service to meet most peoples price range.

Say 1mbs £28:99, 512Kbs £24:99 256Kbs £19:99

What you may have to watch out for is contention. Its conention system works much like cable, however as the system doesn't use fibre theres only such much that the system can carry. Your going to be sharing bandwidth with your neighbours from the start, unlike DSL where the effect of a large downloader can be spread out much easier at the DSLAM.

Im only 1.5 miles out fo the centre of Winchester and i cant get it!!!!!!!!

Yeh great service.

Sorry, Kitty, that's entirely wrong. It can only be supplied within 600 metres of a broadband-enabled HV transformer. In many rural areas, power is fed from a 11,000V feed to transformers on poles, serving anything from 1 to 20 subscribers. Anyone getting power like this will probably never get broadband by power line, because it won't be economic to run a broadband feed to these small transformers.
