OK, so what is considered to be a reasonably good result?

This is my result for now (6am Sunday)

Last time I did this was on 4th April at 5.30pm...

Would you say the above were average or slow?

Speed test for SLOW 4!!

check out my BT speedtest results particuarly the "throughput" speed, this should make SLOW4 proud : its worth noting I joined Fast4 in March & have had speed issues just 3 days after joining up until present day, as lot of folk have noted here they reguarly shift blame for their lack of service betwen BT & EURisp, contantly asking for you to send them speedtest results which they will not recognise from anywhere outside of the BT speedtester, I have sent them between March & now over 25 speedtest results & results from winmtr & various other bits of software they have asked me to try & for a company who consistently advise BT fault causing speed issues it makes me wonder why they have NEVER reported any of this to BT - could this be out of embarassment for the maximum amount of scapegoating they are doing in the name of BT.

If you've been trying to resolve speed issues for 4 months without any luck what chance does the rest of us stand.

Cut losses and go elsewhere me thinks.

mad_irish trust me your not alone in what you said and would have to agree with what smoothound said too. You will have to leave if your getting nowhere. Soon as I get a bit more money I'll be going myself. It's sad to see such a cheap provider go so downhill so fast but it's the old too many have signed up and as a result the rest are going to suffer. End of.

Thinkbroadband result below

Antoher result below : I have asked fast4 on three occasions for a MAC code but they kep telling me to go to the canceltion link on the site which I refuse to do as I won't pay any cancelation charge to a company which can't provide what they are advertising inthe first place, since joining them highest d/l speed I have ever seen has been just under 512kb!!

it just get worse see result below, I have asked on multiple occasions for call backs from fast4 which they chose to ignore and rather than cal me on the number I ask them to they deliberately ignore the request, call on your home number when they know I am at work so won't be on that number, leave a message on your ticket saying "called you" & shutdown the ticket.

They *cannot* refuse a MAC request.

Next time you ring them up, if they ask you to do another method (i.e. the online link) tell them no, thats not acceptable as that forces you to pay for it.

Tell them that if they dont send you a MAC code, you will be reporting them to ofcom.

Remember to do a review too: http://www.ispreview.co.uk/review/

Slow4

hi folks
thanks for your responses & support I notice NO input from Steve Kaye or Paulplex that about says it all I think we should keep posting results here to how anybody thinking of going to them what they are getting into.

Old dude I have logged a comlaint with OFCOM & the ASA (advertising standards agency)who you can see from one of the review links I have posted below (fast4 don't shout about theses reviews on their home page!) have previously upheld a complaint about them in the past.

If we keep posting speed tests who knows they one day might take notice (but I wouldn't hold my breath)

With regards to what irish was saying about MAC'S. I asked fast4 if I could get 1 too. I even quoted some of the new law from OFCOM 1.14 I think that all ISP'S have to supply with a MAC if we request. No questions asked. I also added a little bit about failure to provide me with a suitable service which I feel in 2 months with them that they haven't done. I fear I wioll have to pay £20 though unfairly I may add.

It depends on the IP profile for your line.

If you do another test at

http://217.32.105.42/

and post it here I'm sure forum members will analyze it for you.
Tried to do the test and just got : Unexpected result received when querying the network to find your services connection details. Please try again shortly, but if this problem persists raise the issue with your service provider.

ho hum, will try again as they say

So did they refuse to give you a MAC?
