Yes, I ran a few speedtests to use the 1GB (well, 0.66GB):

And this is me doing a speed test, which breaks the data connection: https://files.catbox.moe/88alxd.mp4

And this is me scrolling a random Telegram group with lots of pictures: https://files.catbox.moe/3hpf8x.mp4

Notice that the text loads fine, same with the compressed images, but if I try to download 3MB+ files... it disconnects data for a few seconds, but only if the app downloads the file too fast.

I guess the trick is to keep the speed low cap the speeds so it doesn't trigger their threshold? Not sure if there's some app to do that.
I can do this exact thing on Three Ireland's SIMs while roaming

If I turn it on, apps will work even though I don't have a plan or any credits. If I do anything that uses data "steadily", e.g Youtube or Speedtests, it works for up to 3-4 seconds before cutting out. If I turn on aeroplane mode and then reconnect, I have free data again.

@GavinAshford Hmm, I didn't know that, thanks.

To test the limit, I had the idea of using the phone's hotspot and then use the developer tools on a desktop browser to limit the speeds there.

After testing different values, it seems not to disconnect if I stay under ~3Mbps for download and ~8Mbps for upload:

I don't intend to abuse this, but I had to scratch this itch and know the limit :LOL:
Can I try and run a 24/7 "speedtest" with this? I'm curious, if you managed 3mbps 24/7 for 30 days, you could use just under 1TB

@meritez @Lucian Vodafone has a 2Mbps plan, it costs £23 a month:

This is really just targetting people who don't do a second of research picking a contract, i'm pretty sure Lebara would work out better even if you went for the best plan they have

I'd like to know where the limit is, but with them being small and EE having that 600GB FUP even on unlimited plans, they'll probably notice and might end up fixing the "glitch" for everyone... so I'm done with my testing :P

I'll use the 1GB when needed and take advantage of this when my Lebara/Vodafone doesn't work well (eg: https://www.ispreview.co.uk/talk/threads/vodafone-mvno-related-posts.40929/post-358603 ).

Is that a cash back deal? It’s £32 at the link.

Didn’t see the ‘exclusively for you’ it does seem to be an ‘Ultra’ plan though.

Some may just want the reliability and service of Vodafone, speed isn’t really an issue for probably 95>% of mobile users.

Speed only matters to the small few like here, when 2meg will pretty much allow you to do everything except maybe online game stream HD.

With Vodafone you have access to the stores, contact centres, app and brand.

MVNO you don’t get much or any of that which you could really rely on.

I've managed to game on under 0.5mbps 😂 (Firsty eSIM on vodafone UK)

It's HD streaming that has issues for me, when the 4G is stable, 0.5mbps is fine for gaming

Wasn't able to activate spusu special1 in RUTXR1 as it was denied from the network, even after rebooting and various config changes. Fine after activating in mobile first and replacing SIM. In case it helps anyone, the APN is "web" and no authentication is used.

The fun part is I'm using Smart Queue Management to throttle to 3 Mbps although it's only 1% load balanced with 99% of a Three UK 5G-NSA connection (~100 Mbps down).

I've gone for the spusu very much for the 64 kb/s free data which equates to 64 kb/s * 60 s/min * 60 min/hr * 24 hr/day * 30 day/mth / 8 bits/byte = 20.7 GB/mth

3 Mbps gives 3 Mb/s * 60 * 60 *24 * 30 / 8 = 972 GB/mth (pretty sure this would never be allowed in practice)

As the GBP 2.9 cost is roughly half the Three UK GBP 6/mth for unlimited data, value for money of the spusu SIM is questionable but I'm estimating that GBP 2.9 will be a vanishing amount of money in the year 2026.
