You might notice that the numbers provided by Spusu, A&A, Devyce may attract a 20p per minute charge for the caller if they use a voip system, voip app, or some foreign providers. If you port in a "normal" UK mobile number then the charge is back to 1p per minute.

Not had anyone complain and most people cant tell the difference between a UK dial tone and a european one..
And not noticed it when I ring my brother on his Spusu number

There is a big difference between those 2 tones. Also there is a massive lag when loading pages. 1st byte takes time due to routing all traffic through their own ASN.

Personally after trying their service i would go for 1p Mobile, More expensive but full EE native service...

Is anyone having issues with the Spusu iOS app today? When I log in using the correct credentials it says that there has been an unexpected error.
All seems to work fine using a web browser.
Thanks.

No issues here on iPhone 14 running 17.6.

Does anyone happen to know if Spusu are ever going to have an official Apple carrier profile? It’s a nagging limitation of the network for me!

Given they don’t have one (yet…?) in Austria or Italy as far as I can tell it seems unlikely at the moment. It’s a real shame as I find it irritating too!

Another Spusu quirk - why does the iPhone display 4G when roaming abroad but here in the UK it says LTE?

Sorry to bring up a noob question but if I order a Spusu SIM, will the originating provider on the ofcom spreadsheet be from EE or someone else? What about Talk Home? Will 1p Mobile have a proper EE owned number?

I don't know the answer, but if you're worried, get a SIM directly from EE/O2/Vodafone/Three and then port the number to the MVNO you want to use.

It would be originating from Spusu iirc, TalkHome and 1p will give you an EE number

Sorry but another noob question. I really like EE I've done multiple tests around the area and EE has just been the best.

Is this the best idea? https://ee.co.uk/mobile/pay-monthly-phones-gallery/best-of-both-simo

20GB for £9

It is Essentials but I take it this will be similar if not better than 1p Mobile who I heard is really unlocked?

That plan has a 100Mbps speed cap, yearly price increases, and a 24 month contract.

The closest 1pmobile plan (25GB/£10) has no speed cap, the cost will be the same next April, comes with 14GB of EU roaming, and there's no contract, which is nice since you don't know how fast EE will be in your area in 1-2 years.

I'd go with 1p, but I don't mind dealing with virtual networks. If I was worried about the number, I'd get a pay as you go SIM from the main networks and then request a PAC code to port it to 1p.

Edit: You should pick the option you're more comfortable with. I don't mind dealing with virtual networks, but some people like having a store they could go to and use a brand they trust more. There's nothing wrong with that. It just costs a bit more.

CMLink have the same 20GB for £9 and 1P Mobile have 25GB for £10. Both will issue an EE phone number. Both have full unrestricted EE signal. You should see no difference between an EE uncapped SIM and a 1P/CM SIM.

Unlike EE themselves you’re only going to be under a 30 day rolling contract, not have any price increases each year, have uncapped speeds, and even get free roaming included too.

If you plan on using the SIM to make and receive calls with I wouldn’t recommend getting a SIM from TalkHome despite giving you an EE number as they don’t support VoLTE which causes issues.

Ported one of my numbers into Spusu today, and must say I was quite impressed. I only sent them my PAC around 4pm yesterday (via WhatsApp) and had confirmation it would happen today.

Port was completed by midday today and everything is working as expected.

Speeds aren’t bad either.
