spusu uk

The Spusu app seems to be broken. Basically loads up their website when it opens and doesn’t hold account details. Bit annoying!

i also had the data thing but as mentioned previously turning off private relay on iCloud worked for me.

Not tried with another VPN mind so may try that later.

3rd month in though and so far I’m happy enough with it as my main sim.

Don't understand this passion for apps when said app is just a website+browser combo.. use the real browser and bookmark their site - done.

Hi all,

First post here. I’m with Vodafone and signal is quite bad in my new office so I’m now trying Spusu and 1pmobile.

Is there any way to test OTPs? Or is my only choice to update my phone number with a bank and see if it works?

Test with a burner account on Uber eats
OTP your way to sucess!

Thanks l, di

Thanks, looks like OTPs do work!

Also test calls. VoLTE support is a bit limited on Spusu (calls drop to 2G if your phone can't use VoLTE) and their voice quality is poor compared to 1p/EE.

Good option for EE data, but not that good for the other stuff.

Yes, I have to test calls, thanks for the reminder. So far I’ve been doing speed tests in the office…
Have also noticed that 1pMobile supports visual voicemail, though don’t care much about it.
I guess it’s a matter of time until they support eSIM?
BTW is it a coincidence that MVNOs that piggyback off Vodafone don’t support eSIM?

Does anyone know how many customers Spusu UK have? Just seems a fairly small set up. Phoned up regarding a few niggling issues and the phone is picked up straight away! Not complaining as this is excellent customer service, but just interested in whether or not their subscriber base is growing quickly.

I think their employee number are less than 20, well it was mid summer anyway

I had a problem with an order and I was also very impressed with the customer service.

Is the voice quality dramatically bad? Even with VoLTE and WiFi Calling? Considering switching to Spusu - their international SIM sounds pretty good to me

There is no HD Calling. You can either have the regular 2G Call experience, or you can move over to VoLTE where there's still no HD Calling which just makes the compression of the call even more obvious. I've seen others use the word 'crunchy' to describe the audio and I think that's a good word for it.

If you're calling a company and you're on hold where they play music down the phone for example it's borderline painful because it makes the sound so harsh.

It IS usable. It's not like it's mega distorted or unclear or anything. It's just a bit unpleasant to hear and if you are comparing it to another provider who has HD calling support then you will be disappointed.

I will say that about a month or two ago they seemed to do something that improved it a little. It's not quite as bad as it once was.

When I tested Spusu early this year, it sounded like a 2G call even with VoLTE.

It works, but you'll notice it if you're used to the clear quality Three, EE, etc, offer.

Thanks, both. I thought VoLTE / WiFi calling would always be crisp enough. Might not go for them then.

I'm perfectly happy with the call quality. As long as I understand what the other person is saying I have no issues. Yeah, hd voice is nice, but more of a bonus for me.

I'm also appreciative of the international minutes and nobody does it better or cheaper, although Lebara are alright.

Here's a sample, do note that I was recording the automated messages, which are the highest quality, a human won't sound as clear, possibly.
To me it's all crystal clear.
Also, the recordings seem to have some annoying artefacts that were not heard during the actual call, possibly the recording process messed them up a bit.
I'm in Spain now, so calling from abroad basically, as well.

Ps: darn, cant upload recordings, @Mark.J can you allow amr files?
