If they're going to do a lower cost (possibly throttled/slower) tier for the mini dish I wonder if it will also be possible to get that on the larger dishes (For people who already have one of those)

I'd happily pay a small sum to be able to get something like 50Mbps or 100Mbps to use a backup service to my FTTP. Currently I have it paused, £85's a bit much to leave running monthly.

I just bought the gen2 dish, ummed and aaah'd about gen3 but decided half price equipment and actuators was a better deal. Now i'm thinking this little mini dish would be excellent but the pricing doesn't seem good to me. IF (and it's a big IF) you are required to take the standard subscription + mini roaming + you get capped.

I would jump at it if you could just pick any plan, doesn't matter what dish you have, just pick any of the plans. I would sell my gen2 and get this. But if they're going to force users on to that plan with caps, then nope. I guess we'll need to wait and see when it eventually rolls out over here.

I think the requirement to have it as a 2nd dish is just when it's in early testing/limited availablity but I might be wrong.

Yes, it allows Starlink to avoid new new customers and using existing customers to test with makes a lot of sense as they know what they use the service for

Here's one of the first unboxing's of the Starlink Mini for you to have a wee nosey at folks. :giggle:

And a couple more. :giggle:

Love the size of it. (As the actress said to the bishop) 🤭

I want one :D

Now that i've used starlink, and taken it camping, I really like it. Internet (practically) anywhere is very very nice. I just hope they rework the pricing structure for the mini as i'd swap out my gen2 for that instantly if they did.

If starlink is not available in a region for customers in that region, would it work for someone travelling with their starlink?
yes. if you have roaming. although starlink are claiming to be clamping down on this.
example, it's not available in Turkey. It works fine.
