Starlink Rural UK Offer - 75% off hardware

That's good to know. I hope they class UK as on the European continent. I've been giving serious thought to moving out of the UK now I have a remote job. Employer has approved as long as it's within the EU.
Each Starlink regional map is shaded in different shades.
You're good for the EU.

Habla Español?
We're also considering, but having kids makes it very hard.
Si. un poco. Although I was considering Portugal actually. Got friends out there already.
We have kids too, so been researching English curriculum schools there. They have a few decent visa options like D-7 for people who earn money from outside the country. Guess it helps that UK <> Portugal have the worlds oldest military alliance ;)

Yeah they have a nice digital nomad visa. Keep us posted. :)

£99 for the dish +20 for postage, billing starts 14 days after shipping.
You pay for just the hardware first

I also bought the ethernet adapter(35 quid) as I'd rather cut that cable than the original Starlink one.

Starlink dish is going under the knife, well milling machine, need to get it down to a Hight of 25mm and use my own Id.net router with a PoE injector over the supplied Starlink one.

presumably billing starts once you activate it right? I mean is it possible to buy it, not activate it, then sell the kit to someone else? I know someone who wants a starlink kit but doesn't want to pay full price for it basically. But I don't wanna be on the hook for subscription even if it's just for 30 days.

I think if you cancel in the first month you will need to return it for a full refund.

Second month you may be OK but the account will have to be active, only roam/mobile has the option to pause the service.

This is what I will be doing , changing to roam/mobile in the second month then pause the plan at the end of August/September depending on the weather.

Plan is to install it on our campervan

Shipping is very quick, ordered on Thursday @ 00.30am June 1st shipped out via DHL 5.30 PM same day, it was due to be delivered today but DHL have £$^up, now have to wait until the next working day, so Monday.

Today is the end of the offer.

Effectively you have to pay for the first 30 days of sub. You can pause or cancel the sub within that period though.

I have the original circular dish which is tied to my address in Suffolk that is my "mother of all backup" connectivity backup. Also a later rectangular one that is/was paused on a roaming agreement.

Thanks all.

Interesting they run a similar rural discount program here in Aussie.

I’ve just been on a trip from Darwin through Alice and down to Adelaide. Stopped overnight in some amazing extraordinary isolated places.

Getting any sort of connection to the outside world was interesting - 800ms latency via bog standard geo satelite made me wish they had Starlink going - though the actual stars in the southern night sky were pretty impressive.

Update on mine that was bought on the £99 deal.

It went under the knife and survived and is now working great flat mounted to the roof of the van.

Total hight now is 26mm, well pleased.

Had to modify the Starlink cable to use a POE injector to work with the Gl.inet router
so I could do away with the Starlink router.

Power is down to 30-35w for the Starlink and the Gl.Inet router in use.

Thats neat. It doesn't mind not being able to rotate?

Does not seem too, it connects much faster now just bolted down to the roof.
I also get the same speeds on roam/mobile use as I did before as its deprioritised traffic on Roam/mobile
