This is a bit odd, so bear with me; I do have data to back it up!
I use 4G Home Broadband with a MF 286D from Three. Mostly works great, have line of sight to a mast so usually around 65MBps up/40 down.
Recently I've noticed periods where throughput plummets; although speedtest etc. show full speed, my actual browsing slows down, Citrix VPN keypresses take 5-10s to appear, etc. Actual transfer rate based on wget is <0.05MBps.
I have isolated the cause. Our Sonos speaker is set to play Radio 2 via Tunein; it streams from http://stream.live.vc.bbcmedia.co.uk/bbc_radio_two - and when it does, the throughput plummets.
I tested the stream from a PC, get the issue; throughput plummets when that stream is played.
Radio 1, Radio 3, any other streaming: fine; Radio 2 via BBC Sounds, is fine.
Weird, don't you think? Happy to listen to other sources of media, but does anyone else notice a strange slowdown when they stream Radio 2 via the link above?
