Doesn't seem to be any catches to the offer.

Don't know much about the company or their history and I'd love to know how they are making money on this.

Does anyone know if they use IPstream or datastream ??

Just looked in the Supanet threads here. There doesn't seem to be a good word said about them.

they have been around for ages, at the time of freeserve etc..

Time / Tiny computers own them

I don't know what their Broadband is like but that had a poor reputation with Dial Up.

If something sounds too good to be true it usually is. Sounds far to cheap for 1Mbs

its Telefonica connected, if you have noticed virtually all the Datascream ISPs are dropping ADSL prices Supanet just dropped the higher end prices too

wow thats a cheap price, i think ill hold on to see how people get on. Ill stick with my 512 pipex atm. I do want 1mb but not sure wich provider to go with.

you sure its powered by telefonica ? and supanet actually gets good speeds in adslguide.org's speedtests.

Certainly wont be BT's IPStream not for that price, lol
yes, very funny. However it still could be datastream from a different comapny.  :hrmph: Just wanted you to provde some proof about it being a telefonica based isp before making such sweeping statements.

Done a bit of snooping on the web and It dont look like a Tiscali Based Datastream Connection (as you say, runs too damn fast, lol) Nor a BT Based Datastream Connection (Supanet's too cheap), so Telefonica came to mind as an Educated Guess (cant think of other suppliers at the moment) *sigh*

Supanet offer te option to migrate from an existing ADSL supplier, so this would suggest that they use IPstream. I'm trying to get confirmation from Supanet on this as if it really is IPstream then this is an excellent package.

my ISP is freeserve and i have 576 but i am chaging to supanet in january when my contract runs out, i will be using a MAC so i can change easy, i just wanted to no why u think because it is cheap it wil be dodgy?

Its far to cheap. £22.96 plus Free Modem & Free Activation its not going to work financially. Sure it will keep going intially as lots of users sign up but once the new user sign up ratio changes there is trouble ahead.

If Wholesale 1mbs prices fall substantially it could be viable or if its a capacity based product and they put a silly cap such as 2Gbs a month on it.

Other then that its not going to fly for long

If its true about time/tiny owning them I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole. Their customer services when dealing with computers are terrible so if same goes with broadband it wont be good.

IP Stream

Just to say that Supanet is BT IP Stream. A friend of mine just signed up for it recently and I noticed this on her account details page.
