Greetings - long time lurker here.
I recently bought a ZTE MC888 5G router from CEX - it was sold as unlocked, but branded as "3" on the box.
Once home I set it up and tested it with different sims and it was indeed unlocked.
Inside the box (not in the router) was a new "3" sim card. Popped it in a phone and immediately got a text telling me the number (The phone's settings does not report the sim number).
I tried a speedtest and it was downloading data.
I tried to register the number on "My3" web page, but it wouldn't register.
Soooo..... how do I find out how much and how long this free data will last??
Thanks.

Are you sure the person who sold it hasn’t left their contract SIM in it? 🤣

So,

Three business supply new sims with devices, if you do not use the new sim, your old sim continues working.

So you have used someone's new sim, so it's likely to stop working as soon as they order a new sim card.

Since you got a text straight away with the sims mobile number that sounds like it’s a new sim.

I think you have got a Three pay as you go sim with no credit on it as usually once you put them into a phone or router for the first time and it activates you get a certain amount of data to use in the next 24 hours for free which they give you so you can download the My 3 app if you do not have access to a wifi connection

I got a Three sim in my NR5103E I bought from CEX, I used for a month before it stopped working, I think CEX test them.
