Sync rate and BT Cap

I have 30/300 max allowance
Only for 8days now
My router had been showing
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)

But I was only getting 2000kbps
Enta said BT had a cap on me

This was my speedtest
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1840 kbps

Enta contacted BT to have the cap removed, I was told to re-boot my router, after which I get this speedtest
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 288 kbps(UP-STREAM) 2272 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1842 kbps

My router shows the same.

This was Entas last response: ""
Hi Carl,

I have spoken to BT regarding this and they are unsure why the sync rate has suddenly dropped and can see that the cap was not removed. I have asked for this to be done escalated as this has now been the second time we have requested it. (END QUOTE)"

Anyone any ideas how to get this sorted? Please!

Thanks

The reason your cap not lifted off yet because you are still within 8 days, you need to wait until after 10 days then the cap will be removed. BT normally reject fault raise within the first 10 days.

Best wait until after 10 days then contract Enta and then BT will accept the fault araise to BT.

I had the same problem when I am on 10 days training on BRAS IP PROFILE. Soon after 11 days, my line had increased IP Profile from 2000Kbps to 7150Kbps.

I would watch the cap you might find its the new BT way with lines that show faults instead of dealing with the faults they cap the line to 2mb. Heard of a few recently with different ISPs that didnt know the customers had been capped. Your ISP can get it lifted but they have to be persistant with BT to get it done.

"DSL connection rate: 288 kbps(UP-STREAM) 2272 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)"

That looks like a fixed 2Mb line to me, not just a Max profile alteration - surely with Max, the upload should be 448 irrespective of what the download is, shouldn't it?

Methinks BT have pulled a fast one.

I think I have been messed up by BT
My sync had been max and capped, BT admitted it was capped
But then BT did something and it went to as you say a 2mb line
Can't get any joy until Monday now, no response from Entanet

I understand the comments about waiting by others in the thread
But with this screw up, I think I will have to press for action
