Good afternoon.

I am a TalkTalk FTTP customer on a 24 month contract, I have been unable to find out despite much Googling/phoning how exactly it works when I move home.

Does the FTTP come with me and I carry on in the new place? Do I start a new contract? Do I have to terminate the old contract and pay early termination fees? What if the new address doesn't have FTTP, what then?

Many thanks.

Hi, put your postcode of your new address into the BT Wholesale Broadband Checker via the address checker form and post the results here in the form of a screenshot, make sure to remove the identifying information [your address] before sharing: https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

If WBC FTTP is listed, your service would be transferred without any issue [other than perhaps requiring an Openreach engineer if the ONT is not provisioned]. If it is not, you will only be able to get VDSL or ADSL, if either are available, which may require contract changes or termination charges if TalkTalk choose not to provision either service.

Also need to understand if the current TalkTalk FTTP is provided on OpenReach fibre or CityFibre. If it's the latter you might as well accept there is going to be a disaster now.

Good evening.

I am on Openreach FTTP.

Good evening.

Phew.

Context is that CityFibre has its own challenges to do service migrations, and TalkTalk have a specialist team dedicated to CityFibre connections (as the majority of their business is OpenReach) and its difficult for customers to get to talktalk to them.

Fortunately none of this applies, at least not at your old property.
