telewest blueyonder???

hi guys,

Im thinking about getting this broadband but im woried about the installisation process. I dont have cable so does that mean a lot of work has to be done in order to connect my pc to the cable line. ie making changes to my house through the wall or floor or is it a simple process.

also what do you guys think of telewest blueyonder, for those that have it?

ive got a mac code but im not sure if they require it. i dont want to cancel my current isp broadband then find out i could have avoided extra costs if i used the mac code.

finally what is a nic, Network Interface Card. i dont have one and are you likely to need one.?

thanks in advance for any help!

cheers!!!

Hi
First this needs moving to broadband discussion where I am sure members will post helping you I will move it there fro you.

I have NTL cable the installation was easy for me they dig up the garden to lay the cable and replace everything. drill a hole in hte wall this is plugged and covered by their box and cable comes inside.

Installation

I agree with the above person. It should be short and sweet. You can have a NIC card or cable modem. I have been with blueyonder for 2 and half years no problems. I would thoroughly recommend them.

You will need a ethernet port on the back of your PC. If there isnt one available on the back via the motherboard, then youll have to buy a NIC card and install that inside. Blueyonder wil supply the cable modem and everything else.

My Blueyonder has been great the last 5 years that ive had it, since it was first available.

Installation is just like how Kits said it. A 6 inch wide by 6 inch deep trench from the street to your house wall, run a black cable from a brown box outside around the house, through a drilled hole - at the location/room you want the cable modem to be located. Nothing to worry at all about.

By the way, the MAC code of the NIC card isnt needed anymore, since like... about 2 years ago.
