Terminating Starlink

I've been using Starlink since my beta order was fulfilled in August, however due to changing circumstances I'm moving house to an area where its feasible to install a leased line or FTTP.

I'm just wondering if there's a market for the equipment or some ability to transfer the service to somebody else who wants to take over the billling.

It would be a shame to scrap it after barely 6 months.

I've seen the odd hardware-only listing on eBay, but people usually ask more than the kit is sold for via SpaceX. As for transferring the service, you'd probably need to ask Starlink's support team first if that is even possible.

Selling the kit on ebay is going to cause problems when the buyer finds out it does not work at their location, the dish is linked to a location and will not work when moved. Musk did promise this limitation would be lifted but no sign of that yet.

You would hope they would have some sort of way to facilitate this, be a shame for such an expensive bit of kit to go to waste.

There appears to be a process in place for transferring ownership of the Starlink kit, and service, to someone else. However, it needs to be arranged in advance, through Starlink support.

They check that they can supply a service to the proposed new service address. They then give you a code which you pass on to the new subscriber. The new subscriber then uses that code when signing up for the service.

As above. While relatively unknown, and not publically broadcast, the ability to sell kit to new owners in supported cells has been in place for some time.
