Tesco fair use - experiences?

Agreed wholly. They need shutting down, absolute cowboys. I cannot believe sites such as MSE and Uswitch still reccomend them too.
Same here, Lyca felt sketchy tbh to me as soon as I visited their website for the first time and considering the CEO is funding literal political parties and the company migrated people to EE without warning, I can't recommend.

If you want cheap deals for EE, go Spusu. If you don't care about the network, Lebara or SMARTY.

It's worrying because uSwitch is trusted and will ultimately lead to somebody porting a number they've had since cellnet and losing it

Although, the deals are so incredibly cheap that it must be appreciated by a lot of people with low income, which would find that incredibly useful, so idk

Tbh, if they start making improvements they start making improvements, I don't think their CS is so bad anymore after experiencing O2's, EE just sets the bar too high

It is because uSwitch make money out of them... hence they are not removed same as MSE and the ilk

@mozzauk
250Gb on a 12-month contract on O2 is £18 via USwitch.
We were looking at mobile broadband plans because O2's fair use policies don't allow an unlimited data SIM to be used in a router. Btw @Bubblesthefish6 I couldn't find anything but I think I have seen like one case, you run more of a risk with unlimited than lower data amounts.

I've witnessed first hand them throttling SIM cards that have been in a router. I still have one in my phone that is still being throttled by them.
What device are you being throttled on?

I had the SIM initially in a Mikrotik Chateau 5g and it had good speeds 350mb down, 50mb up for a few months. Then the throttling started, dropped right down to 30mb despite having a decent 5g signal and signal quality. On a speed test you could see it initially jump up over around 200mb then throttle right down. The SIM is now in a Google Pixel 8 and is still being throttled down to 30mb even if I have a decent 5g signal close to a mast. I really do not recommend using one of their normal SIMS in a router as they will eventually flag it and throttle it. However much you try to hide it from them, it's not that hard for them to figure it out. I'm now on 3 and get really good speeds around 500mb down and 100mb up with the added bonus of a proper IP address.

Fair enough. I’ve literally never seen a case like that before.

I can only see 24 month contracts from O2 directly. I'm going to pull the trigger on a sim from here, and see how it goes. They have 30 day contracts, so hopefully 650GB is enough and it remains unthrottled:

Don’t confuse throttling to congestion which most people do, and it’s annoying.

Considering they said it was fine for a few months, I have to believe they do mean throttling.

It's not like randomly one day that the network suddenly becomes so congested and continues on forever at any time, I don't think it works like that

Definitely wasn't congestion I actually had another SIM on said network and that ran it full speed. The SIM I had in the router is definitely now being permanently throttled and it's been in my phone now for a good 6 weeks or so. Fortunately in a phone I don't really care so it doesn't bother me.
