Priced as below,

512k unlimited £17.97
1mb with 3gb cap £17.97
1mb unlimited £19.97

Dunno if that helps anyone, but thought i would share it.

Doesnt seem good value to me. My 12 months is up in January, think i will look for another provider that can give me 2mb via LLU.

No fair play, inactive's right there; being NTL, their cancellations team are aggressivley persuing these policies. Even if you're out of contract, they don't like to let you leave :(

At least they offer MAC codes now...

Initially they stated 2mb ADSL would be about by now; though they delayed the 1mb launch by about six months the first time. Not good.

I will find it hard to leave Tesco anyway. I have had their BB scince it came out in Sept 2004, and can say its been brilliant for me. Ive had 2 disconnections in all that time, speeds have always been the max 512k can give, pings in games are good.

So when/if i move ISP, the new isp will have a lot to live up to, in my eyes.

But, should i move for the possibility of cheaper 2mb with questions about reliabilty, or stay with my rock solid 512k? I think i will have to watch the market and see what happens in the next 6/8 weeks.

Doh!

Word on the street is that Tesco Value Broadband launches tomrrow; £13.97 for 512k ADSL with a 1GB limit.
May as well go for The Utility Warehouse 512kb with 2GB limit for £3.50 extra.

Thats with a weekend telephone call bundle and membership. See profile

or how about the Metronet PayGoExtra500 at £16.99 for ~14.6Gb

or Metronet PayGo500 at £13.21 for 1Gb

Oh for sure, i personally think it's mispriced. If they marketed it at a sub-£10 price, they'd be swamped with customers (which isn't necessarily a good think for the end user). At the end of the day, the packages is only really for people who want more than dialup, but less than a full-feature ADSL service.

If you ask me (and half of the store employees) it's all very daft, though there's rumours flying about the stores that a "Finest*" range of ADSL services is in the pipeline... ;)
