got bored with the 5g for a while . Testing in the garden getting a crappy 500-600Mbps There is a load of greenery on the trees .Maybe that's slowed the signal a bit. I woke up early and put my Galaxy A42 on the windowsill.
and got a respectable 715 Mbps. I will go out and beat my 1442 Mbps.

I'll upload my tests from another topic since I am testing their 5G these days.
Not too bad!

On 4G I get 2-3 Mbps..

I've been testing if 5G works on Smarty, and can confirm that it does not. Three recently launched 5G in the area, all Three SIMs and 5G-enabled devices get 5G, any device using a Smarty SIM does not.

My smarty sim works on 5G at home - didn’t bring along due to not wanting to top up, but not had any issues otherwise.

I believe in a few months it will be available.

Very strange. I raised it with Smarty and they confirmed they have not enabled 5G on their side and have no timeframe to do so. Even said I'd leave and they couldn't provide any further detail.

Anyone elses VoLTE just stopped working on Xiaomi with three? Mine has just appeared to stop working and I'm reliant on CSFB again which isn't really what I wanted. I do have VoWiFi but VoLTE is just better. I've rung three and they said its an issue in my area however my mum's iPhone still works on VoLTE (also on three). They gave me £5 compensation off my next bill but what I really want is my VoLTE back.

Since putting the Penny SIM in my Xiaomi I've noticed the VoLTE logo appear, never see it with Smarty but does seem to work though

Yeah, the volte symbol only appears for me on EE as well but it stayed on 4G when I made a call with three but it drops to H+ now when I make a call

I've made a discovery. I'm at my grandparents house and there they have a galaxy A20e and a galaxy A71. Both phones on three, both recently updated to android 11 and what's interesting is they have both lost VoLTE too after the update when it was working fine before. I'm begining to think its wider than Xiaomi and something to do with the android 11 update. VoWiFi does work on all the phones though, so I guess that's ok.

My Pixel 5 with smarty and Android 11 seems fine...

What does the provisioning show? In the phone/dialer dial *#*#4636#*#* (enter it as a phone number and hit the dial/call button). Then in the Phone Information menu item, these:

@GavinAshford I think you should go one step further, click the three dot menu in the upper right corner and go to IMS Status, it'll show you what is provisioned and what not.

This has really confused me now. My VoWiFi works fine yet it shows as not available? As for the toggles, you can't switch them but I've been in this menu before and they've always looked like that, even on android 10 when VoLTE was working.

How can you see this on samsung? Ill see what the other two say as *#*#4636#*#* doesn't seem to work on them.

That only additionally shows the IMS registration status (which is needed for either VoLTE or VoWiFi to function), and the others are duplication from the main page, but you're right, it can be helpful to know. If IMS isn't even registered then that feels like a network issue or plan setting (on the providers end). Perhaps they're testing things for a subset of users while they're preparing for enabling 5G

Update on the VoLTE situation, it's stopped working for my dad on smarty and my mum on three (both with iPhones, not android)

I'm not getting 5G with Smarty on my new phone, but I did hit a personal 4G record today.

The area is covered by bands 1,3,20 (and cell info keeps showing 2x B32 occasionally - not sure if actually connecting to it). Don't know what CA combos are achievable with B32 on this phone. (S21 EXYNOS)
