the biscit fiasco continues to confuse me

Can anyone fill in the gaps for me please.

I was with an ISP called jjtek.

so far as i understand the were using V21 to provide broadband.

I had assumed that my account was absorbed by the Biscit fiasco.

once i saw MAC codes were being released i tried to get one from BT wholesale

they said i was not supplied by v21 but by a company called Your communications. they told me that my MAC code would be issued by Eurisp.
Eurisp confirmed that when legal issues had ben resolved my MAC code would be issued.

I sat back to wait for either a MAC code or contact from Breathe or any contact at all. I have watched this Forum for much needed info and was surprised when v21 rose from the ashes and starting looking for business. Out of idol curiosity i went through a couple of their registration screens to confirm that the service they were offering was not for me.

then out of the blue tonight i got an email asking me to move my jjtek account to scotdsl. this was a big surprise as i thought jjtek had gone out of action months ago (web site and user portal were unaccessible).

So i checked out the registrations screens for scotdsl. THe first problem i had was that, if you already have BB then, they tell you to get a MAC code from BT wholesale. Duh! i am stumped here how do i get a MAC code to transfer to a company that cant give me a MAC Code cos they have dumped my account with a company that have legal issue with the company they sold out to. (if you know what i am talking about please let me know cos my head is about to explode).

secondly i look at the sign up page and it looks familar. Hell it is it the same as that of the v21 phoenix. different name for the same package but different prices, same list of hardware at the same prices.

I studied the similar screens at bit harded and i noticed that they are both provided by a company called njpservices.

so i checked out njpservices which brings a smile to my face as Fast4.net pop up in the home page.

so what's my question. Who knows? so many so much confusion my head is spinning.

Who are njpservices?

Are Fast4 a good ISP to move to under the veil if v21 or jjtek or scotdsl?

Who currently owns my account?

Where is my MAC code?

Why do i bother? I will now turn to alcohol and await some kind person on this forum to correct my inaccuracies and point me in the direction of my MAC code and a stable cost effective ISP.

any comments would be appreciated.

Mick :)

This is like war and peace without the peace

Both ScotDSL and JJTEK resold V21's service as Virtual ISPs, basically they were paid commission by V21 which you paid for in your subscription fee. I wouldn't know whose service Scotdsl is reselling today as I haven't checked.

NJP also allow companies to set themselves up as a Virtual ISPS http://www.njpservices.co.uk/partners/index.asp much as V21 did.

My dad couldn't make me a bargepole long enough for me to want to touch them, or any company related to them, or reselling their services, with, including fast4:- https://secure.njpservices.com/cust_signup/csuterms.asp?a_code=fast4&smp_id=9&sm_acc_type_id=3&pt=39
