Thinking of getting 20Mb XL Service - Any Good

Hi guys,
I currently have Pipex ADSL Max 8Mb, but since they were bought over, the level of service has dropped. I now only sync at 5.5Mb instead of the 7.2Mb I used to get. Also the speeds have seriously dropped. I download alot of Linux distros for trial, and up until a couple of months ago, I was managing around 800Kbps download - now I'm luck if I get 400Kbps.

Anyway - back to the purpose of this post.

What is Virgin like? Is it any good? Do they drop connections as much as they used to? What are the average download speeds for the 20Mb service? Is there much lag, if I want to play online?

In summary - is it worth it?

dont get it, i upgraded from there 4mb line, and still only get the same speeds. There are poor, and customer service is overall shocking.

avoid this company like the plague.ive terminated them as from this morning,and they can whistle for my outstanding contract and this months bill hahahaha

cable speeds can be dependent on the take up in the area, l dont have cable myself however l know many who do and the trend usually goes along the lines of areas where cable is more popular the slower the speeds will be on the other end of the spectrum can be very different and much faster as my friend has proved (he gets close to 20meg when possible as its dependent on server speed as well)
