Three 4g+ Hub ( Sercomm LTE2122GR ) Easy Hack for unlocking and enabling APN and other hidden settings.

Is it possible to view routers Wi-Fi usage if I install Charles Proxy following Shantur`s instructions?.
I want to know how much I'm using of my Scancom 500gb allowance.

I'm guessing that Scancom don't want the management overhead of telling their customers how much of their data bundle has been used. It must be measured somewhere.

As an alternative to installing and running a dedicated proxy in order to get the usermode change functioning, you can also use a browser extension like Requestly.

The extension can supposedly import rules that have been exported from Charles Proxy but that didn't seem to work for me.

I've managed to get this working using just a single "Modify API response" rule:
Requestly - Admin mode rule.png

Note that this is a little naive as it assumes the array indices are consistent but from my limited testing so far, they are.

If you're setting the unit up for the first time and getting dropped to the setup wizard after logging in, you can get around this without using a dedicated rule as well. Simply navigate to http://192.168.1.254/overview.html after logging in.

This will be the first time I have done a hack like this. Can I confirm that after doing it once future SIM card changes to different providers will either happen automatically or via the normal UI rather than doing the proxy hack again.?

You need to do this hack every time if you need to change the network provider specific stuff - that is, the APN details.

It's even easier to use Burp Suite now. I've created a project file with the required configuration (attached).

1. Download and install Burp Suite Community Edition:

2. Download and UNZIP the attached .zip file, so that the file 'LTE2122GR_Intercept.json' is somewhere on your computer

3. Open Burp Suite and do the following:

Select 'Temporary Project'
Click Next

Select 'Load from Configuration File'
Select file: LTE2122GR_Intercept.json (attached here)
Tick 'Default to the above in future'
Click 'Start Burp'

Click on 'Proxy' tab
Click 'Intercept is off' (to turn it on)
Click 'Open Browser'

Login to router as usual: http://192.168.1.254/

Should unlock the Settings > Mobile > APN settings.

Thanks.
So do you change the network from 3 to Auto and if APN detail is pulled through then the only reason to have to manually do this again is if APN does not auto update with another sim?

The question is, what is the SIM of the network you are going to be connecting to? If it's 3 or Smarty, you won't need to change anything. If its EE, O2, VF (and any of the MNVOs) then you'll need to do the 'hack' to at least change the APN at least once.
After that, no need to use Burp again unless you change networks and need to change the APN again.

Initially it will be smarty but I am thinking about the future and hoped that by hacking and making it auto it would stop future issues.

Do you know the difference between using lyca Apn and or ee Apn ?

I don't, but Google should be able to find these details?
Of course i did try google before asking however all that comes up is ‘how to use lycamobile apn they just seem to want you using lycamobile apn, I did do some testing and ive not experienced and difference in speeds though the pings were a tiny bit higher so not entirely sure

I believe, not APN related but, ee have not opened up channel 20 on 4G to Lyca so some areas like mine would be adversely affected.

Hello 4G+ Hub fellas, I tried to follow the steps using Charles but after rebooting I can only see Expert Mode without APN settings, also I notice the JSON file returns "3" instead of 0 or 1 now. I cannot use an O2 SIM so far but somehow a Voda SIM works.

Have I messed anything up? Any advice is appreciated. Cheers.
