Three 5G issues - any ideas?

sorry about that - yes I do mean Three.
Speed test at 06H15 today
PC on 5ghz wifi - 152 download vs 6 upload
Phone on mobile data (Smarty/Three)(3g or 4g) 7down and 3.4 up
Phone on wifi (2.4ghz) 33 down 0 up
TV cannot connect through router on ethernet as Network unstable.

have already changed both the router and the sim so it's probably not that and I get a good signal from the tower

something is causing a problem with the upload in android devices (2 phones and a smart TV) - the two windows laptops work around it to a point and get uploads between 3 - 6 mps, not great.

Took the sim out the router and put it in my very old phone - so 4g/3g
downloads between 5 and 7 and upload between 1.5 and 3.5
Could use hotspot for the TV and TV worked

What phone model is it? I still think the router is the issue but still expect slow upload as the network seems at capacity there tbh

Trying changing the WiFi to 5mhz so it dont automatically connect to 2.5mhz wifi see if that helps normally having it to auto means that as you might know it connects to 5mhz giving you faster speeds when your near it and where your far away its 2.5mhz as 2.5mhz gives wider wifi ranger
Dual bands with different Wi-fi names, dual band auto can cause problemssounds like they maybe on only 5Ghz that’s why the old mobile won’t connect.

As for TV Ethernet you maybe want to check the settings OP and try a new Ethernet cable too.

Right defo a Ethernet issue, as above post check settings and try a new Ethernet cable.

Your speeds are good, your Wi-fi bands and Ethernet arent, you want to rule them out to see if it’s crippled firmware that’s the problem .

The phone isn’t the issue, basic or top of the range it’s working. The speeds on router are great.

Wi-fi & Ethernet issues persist, but what settings are the Wi-fi 2.4/5GHz ? auto ? on the same SSID is a no no in most consumer situations as they aren’t open wide spaces.

Defo needs some settings investigation & new Ethernet trial to TV if hotspot works on crappy speeds v the router 5G speeds.

when connecting the TV to the router have tried both wifi and ethernet - they connect, but when opening an app i get Network is unstable error. with ethernet, i did change the cable when i got the new router

SSID - the 2.4 and 5ghz are both named differently - but might try renaming them as I am willing to try anything!

BTW had three's tech support phone again - they said they couldn't find the device on their network. i said well that's probably a good place to start as it's been on all day. But it seems taking out the sim card and giving it a wipe is all they can say.

Did you say why are you billing me for something I’m not using lol.

The system spilt (and newer 3 payg app on the old system) had been having major issues lately, something isn’t right at Three.

Logging into the new my3 only works properly when you click on a link that passes you to the old my3 system, IF you can get in in the first place haha, literally Three is having a TSB upgrade crash but it’s easier to hide such when it’s not a bank and less irate customers aren’t social media’ing about it.

Are you connected to WAN or Ethernet? I’m not sure about this routers specs or options on the firmware but no way should that be happening using a brand new Ethernet with settings that are correct in the router, Wi-fi that wouldn’t be unusual, esp with other things nearby with electromagnetics as most people have. I’ve seem people with 4/5G routers ontop of their microwave in the kitchen hahaha, numpties.

is the firmware 3 branded ?

If you have the option of hot swapping with 2.4/5GHz Wi-fi automation in the router settings try that, IF your TV supports both, with the same name SSID maybe it will work?.
Don’t just switch Ethernet off in the settings either when you do this with Wi-fi, unplug the Ethernet either end, if you have a Wi-fi issue (TV) it maybe reporting the Ethernet as not connecting not the Wi-fi, again I say this as I am not aware of your TV model (LG Web OS?) and how it reported connection issues.
Just worth mentioning that’s all, not assuming you are doing or not doing such.

I’ve had the same with Android TV & 4G LTE router myself before, I for the life of me can’t remember what the problem was though lol but I did sort it through all the self fault diagnoses.

Try 2.4/5Ghz broadcasting separately, one on at a time, I’ve seen a TV fail on one band but fine on the other, chips and software updates do play up after all.

my3 has been broken for months. Regularly gives blank pages, sign in errors, forwards you to boxes or forms which are greyed out and can't be filled in etc.
Think they are trying to compete with Vodafone for most broken control panel!

Well Voda U.K. have been at it for 15+ years with 7 different customer systems, Oracle Siebel was meant to sort it all out in 2011 which was a disaster for Telstra Australia in late 2000s, then Vodafone Group appointed them to do the same Group wide, Vodafone AU staff weren’t impressed, between 2011 & 2013 (after merging with 3AU) & Oracle coming on board the network was constantly crashing and ‘Siebel‘ was more see nothing of customers accounts, during this time Vodafone AU lost 2 million customers, circa 1/3 of its customer base.

Vodafone moving to Oracle Seibel CRM has been a beyond TSB disaster, renewing contracts is its only option as the Oracle problems of 25+ million U.K. customers still isn’t complete to transfer to another companies platform.

Ofcom fined them short of £5 million, if only Ofcom knew the true extent of Voda U.K. issues.
