I recently got a Huawei N5368X Outdoor CPE (5G), because for some reason I can get 40-50mbps on a 5G device compared to 2-8mbps on purely 4G (Huawei 535, Mikrotik dish) devices at the same location! Weird! Anyways, it was branded Saudi Telecommunication Company (STC) but has recently upgraded to what appears to be generic Huawei firmware.

I don't remember being able to see the settings on the 535, but does anyone know if Three have a Auto-Configuration Server (ACS) and if so, what the settings are for it?

If your on about APN settings it should auto config it, if not this use theses settings

What 5G band are you connecting to?

There are no 5G bands in my area. That's the weird thing about it!

I get better speeds on my Pixel 4a 5G and Huawei N5368X, for some reason, using the existing 4G bands (3,20) I thought that they were somehow concatenating the two local masts together, but I'm told that Three don't have inter eNB CA.

Dunno how, or why, but I am liking the better speeds and hopefully when Three get round to upgrading local masts will get speed boost from that.

Connected to the same Cell Number as all previous routers.

Little bit slower than average cause watching streaming service in another room.

Weird,

It's a cat19 on the download and cat13 on upload:

Comfortably aggregates 20-3 according to the link

It's an outdoor CPE too, so maybe the antennae are designed better. I was getting way better RSSI on the other devices, but the signal was noisy leading to bad data throughput

Tonight I was going through my settings to see why I can't manually select the network any more and I found that the TR-069 settings have been populated!!

But can't figure out how to change the Network Settings, there used to be a drop down box which allowed me to select the Network manually.

Is this a Huawei or Three thing?!?

Might be stupid, but does the option come back if you factory reset with no SIM in and turn off ACS?

Not sure, with the current winds and floods, I'm in no mood to get the equipment down in case something goes wrong!

They have also taken band selection off in this firmware, it's been completely locked down. Can't manual select network, or select bands, no way to check SMS, can't even change tech ie 3G, 4G or 5G only.

PS : They have also taken away the ability to manually search and connect to another network (ie 3 IRL) in the Three supplied routers B535 as well!

Still in love with Mikrotik, but their 5G kit is just too expensive for my zero budget right now. Fibrus are supposed to be taking applications very soon for my area, so will probably try and hold on with what I have until then.
