Three has a policy of asking for a PIN which was created for establishing who you are when you ring them.
Today I was asked for the four digit PIN. Most companies require a longer number or word, and the agent doesnt see the full PIN just enough to ask for the 2nd, 4th and 5th digit for example. Three show the full PIN to the agent, and ask the customer for it.
I said this doesnt seem secure, and explained that a scammer could ask for the PIN and get it with their policy.
I said I was unhappy with this security policy and wanted to escalate my complaint. Well I got a call that evening, from Three. When I suggested he ring off and I will ring Three he said we will expect you to give the PIN number that isn't going to change you know.
So the call ended as the issue was already decided.
What do you think of how Three's security measures?
