Three - APN massive performance diffferences

I've had slow internet the last few days, wasn't sure why, but had some time to play around this evening . Tried rebooting router etc with no difference (web pages would not load or only partially), but found switching from the 3internet APN to three.co.uk APN (CGNAT) has restored performance.

Has anyone else noticed this difference? I've been using the non CGNAT APN for the last 18 months without issue (as I occasionally remote into my home network), but it seems to have gone downhill the last few days for me (Herne Bay, Kent).

Never makes any difference speedwise for me timh30, both apns are much the same here.

Glad you got a wee speed bump. :giggle:

It certainly did for me, I gave up with the 3internet APN when the hanging webpages issue started and switched to the three.co.uk CGNAT APN then. Even during times of high contention it provided slightly higher speeds than the 3internet one (though was still sub 4Mbps at peak times). I always presumed they prioritised cell-phone web connectivity over their broadband service.

Thanks, I've had major issues with Three Broadband for the past 4 days, having to constantly re-boot every few hours due to no connection even though I have a full signal. I've switched to see if this is more reliable.
Ping 18ms Download 385mbs and Up 14mbs, which is fine but will report back on longevity.

Three had issues on broadband off and on for 3 days until Thursday evening, so that may be what you were seeing.

Seemed to be a dns issue as changing to 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 got some sites working but still wasn't 100%.

Unfortunately those issues continued on Friday and again today. The APN change has certainly helped so far.

6 hours now and no more problems on three.co.uk APN
Same here(since last night).

I see on Thinkbroadband someone has posted with the exact same issue yesterday:

"Has anyone else noticed this problem (or something very similar) returning in the last week? It isn't affecting all websites but seems to be particularly affecting Google and Youtube of the websites that I regularly visit. Like last time, using a VPN seems to get around the problem. "
