Is it worth taking out a plan that gives roaming in 173 or so countries with Three before it is inevitably pulled by Vodafone post merger?
Aren’t they just passes? Is it worth taking out a plan that gives roaming in 173 or so countries with Three before it is inevitably pulled by Vodafone post merger?
Yeh they areAren’t they just passes?
Sadly not.The plans that include them are quite expensive, do you travel enough to be able to justify spending that every month?
With roaming there’s probably a clause in the T&C that the locations are subject to change.well part of the conditions outlined by the CMA is to maintain all plans and pricing for 3 years.

My experience was the complete opposite of yours!I'd be more concerned about them throttling the data than removing it all together. Using Three to roam in the USA is fantastic, with no noticeable issues beyond what you'd expect when out in remote areas.
My O2 SIM wouldn't even load Googlemaps and the missus paid EE £25 for a month of roaming and had a similarly poor experience.
It says "commit to retain certain existing mobile tariffs and data plans for at least 3 years", not all. I can't find detail on what these are, but it sounds extremely limited.well part of the conditions outlined by the CMA is to maintain all plans and pricing for 3 years.
I don't know if it makes a difference but I am on a Plus plan, didn't have any speed restrictions at then start of the year. We had planned to go back but might skip going back for the next 4-years or so.I have heard tales of O2 being iffy in the States so only tried it once. It connected to AT&T's 5G but Googlemaps simply wouldn't run. I flicked to the Three SIM which again connected to AT&T but this time showing as 4G+ and all was fine straightaway. The tower was within sight less than half a mile away.
I was surprised by the EE performance, the missus doesn't use much data so for her to complain it really must have been bad. Interestingly she did use up nearly her entire data allowance for the month, so there could be shenanigans at play either by her or EE but in the end it's just easier to agree with her assessment that it's all EE's fault.
