Three hell bent on preventing access to My Account

Has anyone noticed how difficult Three have made it to get access to your online account?

First they introduced 2FA sending a code via SMS to my router which I haven't got access to right now. After hours on the phone I managed to get them to swap the number to my mobile phone instead. Today I tried to log in and get asked to select the smiling dogs!!

I'm not a dog nor do I identify as one, so how do I know if the dogs are smiling or not?

I've had similar dog reCAPTCHA on another site, i just refreshed it till it gave a proper one, but since signing up to them a few months ago i've only seen it a handful of times

i see it all the time when trying to login, although it might be caused by the VPN i run 24/7

It used to basically log me in automatically when on their connection. Not using any VPN, just seems that Three have suddenly decided to implement more security than my bank!

Google reCaptcha is okay as it can tell now without even presenting you with a captcha. These new hCaptcha ones are awful!!! they are used on a few sites and I can't stand them.

reCAPTCHA v3 is not very privacy friendly though. It tracks you around the website and the internet.

Anyway, the move to hCaptcha is probably related to changes reCAPTCHA's pricing. Cloudflare moved in 2020 because of this.

For Chrome(ium) and Firefox, there's an extension called Privacy Pass, which is supported by hCaptcha. When we complete a captcha, we get a number of passes and while we have passes, we don't have to fill another captcha. More info:

Fair enough if my IP was from a VPN or TOR, but it's a Three IP address. It used to log me in automatically, but now I can't get access due to stupidity like this!

But…. Who wouldn’t want smiling dogs!
FYI middle dog middle row - definitely smiling. Doggos either side - definitely not smiling 😂
