Three mobile 4G + Huawei B535 weirdness

Not sure on the differences.

Is there still data left on the three sim, if so try that, unless its locked of course.

I would think the B625, with it being a '6' series model (vs 5 of the B535) would potentially be a higher CAT level to perhaps do 3xCA and so maybe achieve a higher speed - that is if your mast has suitable bands deployed and the B625 can aggregate those, but a quick look and I can't find documents/specs online for it, so I cannot say for sure what it can do.
Edit: looks like the older B612 brings with it 4x4 MIMO on certain bands over/above the older 5 series models (though with it being older it doesn't support 5Ghz Wifi)

Assuming its one of Huawei's newer models I'd expect the API based apps/software to work with it, that is unless EE have customised it heavily and so prevented it. You should be able to test the apps/software just by connecting to it, it wouldn't need a SIM in to do that, just Wifi/ethernet connected to your mobile/pc.

As always, I am blown away by your knowledge. Never thought to try without a SIM.

Obviously it won't tell you anything on the mobile network side of things, but you should be able to see if the apps will connect to it and see what they report assuming they do

Holy flipping heck.

Just recorded a download speed of 107 Mbps, upload speed of 39 Mbps (still on the B535). Bursting to 120. I thought the max for 4G was 100?

Unbelievable. To think for all these years I've limped along with Three and practically cracked open a bottle of champagne if I hit 30Mbps.

If that's with EE and the B535 then B3+1 will give the full theoretical 300/50 that the router supports - 20mhz in both bands with 2x2 MIMO and 64QAM.
Or, it might be B3+3 - you'd have to play around with band locking to see what individual bands were available and what individual speeds they give to see which then combined gets the maximum speeds.

Edit: the B535 can do 100up, not 50, so not quite maxed out with EEs spectrum unless they've got UL CA enabled on the site.

Can confirm B625 does work with LTEHMonitor, so almost certainly with HUACTRL app too. Used the PAYG EE SIM I had - tried the Three SIM but the B625 EE supplied is locked to EE, whereas the B535 Three supplied is unlocked.

Loving this EE performance, pity it is so much more expensive than Three, but you get what you pay for (if you're lucky). Definitely won't bother with an external antenna now.

Going to work on improving my FFTC landline then maybe get into "channel bonding" either through software (like Speedy) or perhaps a load balancing router.
