Three public IP address changing hourly today

We have an excellent 4G/5G signal yet the public IP address has changed 6 times since 11am. Today web pages fail to load on the linux browser yet wait a few minutes and it will load fine.

It is really disorienting for the VOIP phone which is constantly having security calls, blocking the SIP identity so it needs to be re-registered.

Its a snom phone firmware v10, and I havent got into the vast wiki to explain the settings.

I suspect if this is due to the IP address changing ( and there is no stability) and the stun server is not relevant, perhaps we can't run a phone on Three mobile.

I'm on Three and although the ip does change, I'm using dyndns to update the IP address regularly and use that as the external IP for my phones (using asterisk). I found there were some registering issues so changed the registration frequencies and attempts which solved it for me. I can have the same IP for several days though, check your router it shouldn't change hourly, maybe reboot it and keep it out of direct sunlight in case it's overheating.

Thanks, that overheating could be a problem as its trying to get a signal from a window in full afternoon sun.

Can you provide one of the IP's being assigned?

It sounds like what happened to me back in December 2023 where the assigned IP were CGNAT instead of the usual public IP I would usually have gotten on the 3internet APN. I was also having issues with Wifi Calling on all phones using that feature on my 3 Internet connection and problems with VoIP (I have a Sipgate "landline" number)

Customer support disabled IPv6 on my account and it started to work again, haven't had a problem since. I have the same public IP until I reboot the router or there is a power cut in the area.

Three even say on the box the router came in to find a windowsill for it to sit on. You might get away with moving it the other side of curtains or a window blind. The old saying height is might applies to mobile networks in most cases, locating the router on a tall shelf upstairs can be better than next to a window downstairs if you live in a house, that might give you some more options.

I think it was the APN, changed it to 3internet and so far it hasnt changed for over 24 hours.

Co-incidentally with the high turnover of ip address was the demand for SIP password and deregistration.
My snom voip is still deregistering (2 times yesterday) with a log relating to auth issues. This is quickly resolved by saving settings in the snom web interface.

AAISP doesn’t see any issues on their end and doesn’t have any help to offer. AAISP is the pbx as I run a single voip instance.
Stun used to work, without port forward, so something has changed in the past few days.

Googling suggests it could be a pbx issue, ntp server issue or port forward issue.
