Three/SMARTY Band 20 gone

3 network is weird, the network error message went and just now 5x Band 20. Bizarre!
Devices act weird, they will not show Band 20 if Band 3 is available but then might search for Band 20 randomly if say theres an issue and backup is needed, I have noticed devices connect with Band 20 for VoLTE where available (even if from another mast)

The device possibly had to drop to Band 20 and thats why it detected all the different ones from neighbouring cells/masts.

I have noticed before now that Three will not keep a device on Band 20 unless its required (signal strength, EE also the same) but if the mast in this case is failing on bands 1 and or 3 then its likely the mast is kicking devices off band 20 thinkings they are wrongfully connecting and hence the 3G fallback.

It was letting me flow between O2 and Three and each had their own specific information on refresh.

Assuming the 4x4 is the Three mast nearby with 5G and band 32 activated, and then 2x2 would be any other mast around me.

I’m in a weird location with 3 connecting masts similar distance apart so probably explains why my smarty sim changes all the time, it’s annoying as it drops to 3G a lot, because it’s the stronger signal out of the local masts at that time possibly?

Edit: your post above just confirmed that.

The perks of only being within range of one mast 😂

I’ve two O2 pretty much either side of me that I connect to.

There’s another nearby but faces the other way annoyingly, I don’t go that way anymore as I’m not in the office but it was easily 90-100 stood the other side of it. They should just add a panel facing north east then the reach would be perfect for thousands of people.

Using LTE Discovery, you'll be surprised how many signals and bands you phone can pick up.

Not doing well with SMARTY CS, told me to check my phone settings?

Got another £1.25. It's not good enough though is it?

when my VoLTE wasn't working i got two months free off my three bill and fck all from smarty. They kept saying I hadn't turned the feature on yet I'd sent them loads of screenshots of the page clearly stating it was on. I ended up complaining from a fee other three accounts I control in this area and smarty just said its a known issue in the area and I was to suck it up
