Three Speed Tests

Three 5G via a desktop PC. Router still on my roof, powerline adaptors into a mesh system, PC hardwired to a mesh node.

My experience of Three around London for the last two weeks has been around these average speeds on 5G. It would appear that they are now suffering from congestion with only a few exceptions of fast speeds I assume on uncontested masts.

Albeit very usable but a world away from “5G guarantees amazing speeds” I have read out there.

Three outside of Waterloo Station during the peak delivered one bar of 4G that didn’t work. Sadly I couldn’t run a speed test or even send a WhatsApp. But you will have to take my word for it.

Not sure what's happening with three lately here, but any time I try it, it's very usable, usually speeds are around 15-20 megs.

I wonder where the wee extra uplift is coming from.

Really getting my £6.26 🫣 worth now.😊

POW behind Westgate Oxford holding up nicely despite the extra load on it. Doesn't cover much of the city centre but where it does it's really helping.

Irvine Town Centre Three 5G
A tad slower than usual, but I think we could get by on that OK. 😊

From a magic 5G bus stop to one decisively not. Bus stop at Dalgarven Mill. 3G is good enough apparently.
Oh that's not bad for 3G PB2000.
It's faster than O2's 5G in a couple of spots in Glasgow.(12 & 15 megs) 😊

Unusually there's no three 5G available in Irvine Town Centre this morning, but 4G is coping rather well. Three 4G (y)

The magic 5G bus stop wasn't playing ball today.:(

Right time to own up why there was no 5G in Irvine today, and why the Saltcoats magic 5G bus stop wasn't playing ball.

I discovered when I got home my phone was set to 4G.
How did that happen?
Doh! What a plonker. 😊
