Three UK "Go Roam World" more destinations being added

It’s 56 days for the duration of the contract in total yes.

I wonder if ATW Extra will also be included in this.
They’re in for a killer deal for many if so.
I think killer is overegging it. The pricing is still way too high, especially with price rises on top. Even during the 50% off for 12 months you're looking at more than iD or SMARTY, with less EU roaming (by days, and Vs iD, data allowance) as well. Back when Feel at Home started, as it then was, it was killer as Three was actually pretty cheap then. Vodafone have offered a bigger roaming footprint on their most expensive plans for some time and I don't think it's particularly popular either.

But still it is good to have movement in this space after the massive backwards step by Three of starting charging a few years ago.

It's a lot simpler and cheaper to use wifi-calling over a cheap data-only eSim.
If you can find a UK network that allows this consistently. It's extremely hit and miss, I wish it would work better (as you say later many US networks it works much better, although not always perfectly).

Although personally I'm unbothered. I only need incoming SMS these days for OTPs. At least those are always free (unlike US networks many of which charge from incoming roaming SMSes, ridiculous!). So eSIMs are of course the competition and hopefully it makes networks keep up.

If three let you use the inclusive 56 day roaming passes in the Go Roam Extra locations, they will have the widest roaming agreement in the UK.

This is what i understand the position to be.

by my understanding you can't control passes being used in lower "value" destinations like Europe first it just misses the mark still.

Turn Roaming to off in settings & only turn it on for Higher Value Destinations.

That’s what I take it to be now too I’ve done more research. Will have to update the spreadsheet once the time comes

Interesting!

receiving calls and texts will be free. You only trigger Go Roam daily fees or use roaming passes if you access your allowances. So basically making a call, text, or using some mobile data. Whereas there's no "allowance" used when you get a call or text in.

I'm really excited to share more about this service with the Community, we'll have more info soon.”

Then have no phone service when in Europe?

My point is there doesn't seem to be a way to take a roaming pass at £2 and save days for higher value locations.

Yes that’s a fair point. I’d not thought of it like that. It makes no difference in my case, but I do agree they should just offer free EU roaming (like o2 do) & be done with it & leave the 28/56 day passes for the RTW. If it’s important you could get a European sim when next travelling in Europe (or order online) that’s what we have done so we could use our 56 day passes in the RTW if we chose to.

Three app has been updated.
