Three / Vodafone Merged Network Technical Discussion

I would expect it to take a good few months first before people get fed up and go.

I think Vodafone will see more departures than Three. Three customers are used to service instability. Vodafone customers generally aren't.
I'm not moving from my £6 Three unlimited data plan until Vodafone turn up at the door with an axe. 😊

I genuinely think that the majority of users benefit from plans being speed capped; it prevents any one person using too much bandwidth and almost no one would notice unless they ran a speed test. I reckon that the future is unlimited data with different tiers of speed restriction.

But if you're not the type to do a speed test you're using the same amount of data each month regardless of your phone accessed it at 1000 or 100mbps?

Vodafone already has cheap deals around. Mobiles.co.uk for example.

I think people are over thinking it.

Life is getting expensive. Just because phone plans are going up, don’t dismiss the loaf of bread also going up a similar rate.
Unlimited for £16 on Vodafone with roaming?

I recently got 120GB data for £6 a month with 5GSA. I don't think that's unreasonable.
No roaming granted, but if I did want that, Lebara and TalkMob exist.

Sometimes it's priorities. If you need roaming more then give up 5G SA. You'll get it eventually.

For me, I didn't need roaming. I have EU roaming with iD and EE, I have no need for it on the OnePlus, I doubt I'd even take it abroad with me.

Even Mr cheapskate here would pay an extra £1 over his favourite £5 figure for that Bubbles. 😊

I got a good deal 150GB on Vodafone with 5gSA £13 a month (in Newcastle so don’t have access to to 5GSA)

I'm also pondering how we handle this merger with respect to the forums (e.g. merge forums or leave some intact etc.), which I guess will be dictated by how long Three UK and Vodafone survive as separate brands or if a third brand is introduced. No changes for now, of course, but it's something I'll have to keep an eye on.

Not 5G SA
Oh come on, cut them some slack, they haven’t even launched it on Three to offer it :ROFLMAO:

Vodafone are a premium brand and if you want all the extras, you need to pay for them. That includes roaming.

They even ditched it off their bargain offering, VOXI.

I will be amazed if the Smarty offerings stick around when Vodafone get hold of them.

I would love to be proven wrong.

I think smarty and voxi will become the same thing. No point running two company owned direct competitors.

"Freeze" the current forums as archive & make a new one: ThreeCon :P
