Think it was on Wednesday night. Small bits of 3G coverage slightly reduced too, such as Aberdyfi
The phase 8 PoW seems to still have 3G active here. I don't know why. Since there's 3 sectors for N78 5G and the usual 4G setup.View attachment 20829The wording has now changed to “our 3G network has now been phased out across most of UK” in case no one else has noticed yet on the checker.
Seems that the 3G that's live is from the nearest PoW here still. Doesn't make sense why they didn't switch it off, given the PoW on 5G has excess of over 1gbps download speeds (not that I can test it myself as I don't have a 3 SIM / SIM on the network)
For here in Oldham it’s quite strange no matter where I am forcing 3G gives straight up no service yet it still says they’re switching a mast offSeems that the 3G that's live is from the nearest PoW here still. Nice catch - they must have updated in the past few days - 10 days ago there weren't any shutdown dates for Oldham area, though Bolton was showing as 18th Nov at that time. Will pull the latest tomorrow and see what's whatView attachment 21146This has most recently showed up in my area in Oldham. Last time a mast got switched off in my area was back in September 13th.
I’ve been looking at Manchester City centre and Trafford areas so far no switch off dates. We got just over a month left of 2024, do you think they will actually be able to fully switch off 3G across the country?Nice catch - they must have updated in the past few days - 10 days ago there weren't any shutdown dates for Oldham area, though Bolton was showing as 18th Nov at that time. I'm in Leeds and the three coverage checker just states that 3g is no longer available in the areaI’ve been looking at Manchester City centre and Trafford areas so far no switch off dates. Unironically it's like the only thing allowing 3G coverage in this area now. Makes no sense for them to keep it turned on, but obviously there's a reason..Checked the map to see if there's a update, appears that most of Dunstable no longer have 3G however there are quite a few areas of Luton which are hanging onto 3G.
No updates on 5G coverage on the map though.
That is unusual, than again a lot of businesses make decisions that don't make sense to the average Joe Public but somehow make sense to those in charge and this is probably another example.

There's no date on the checker for it to be turned off either.
From the data, it looks like the Oldham one is just a single site towards Denshaw - feels like 4G eNB 12921 (Hill Top Lane).Nice catch - they must have updated in the past few days - 10 days ago there weren't any shutdown dates for Oldham area, though Bolton was showing as 18th Nov at that time.
