Time from Build to Order

I realize this is probably a "How long is a piece of string" type of question but I'm interested to know any examples of the time between gigaclear putting the duct to the edge of your premises and being able to place an order/get installed?
They've started the civils along the road from me and according to roadworks.org should be completing the village by mid September. The next village along already has live service and I think we'll be connected to the same main cabinet so I'm assuming its just a case of having the path the blow the physical fibre back to the cab? They also seem to be installing some smaller green cabs that are about 50cm tall which I'm guessing are some sort of patch point to connect onto a fibre back to the switches in the main cab.
Do gigaclear tend to open up ordering for an address as soon as its built or do they wait for a whole village to be completed first?

You are lucky they connected you, our village in east herts is knackered after gigaclear has promised our village for over 6 years.

It depends on whether the backhaul is also live as this can take time to provision. In my village, they installed the POTs but the service took months before they would accept orders because the backhaul fibres couldn't be connected up due to wayleave issues with the route the fibre ran.

Just having the POT installed doesn't mean the service is ready to go so expect some delays...

There can be (and often are) long delays at every stage. Unfortunately Gigaclear aren't good at keeping potential customers up to date with progress.
At a recent community meeting in my area they did say that they are now trying to make connections live as they go, rather than waiting for an area to be complete before connecting the first customer. No sign of that actually happening though :-(
