TimeTalk - New ISP on the Block

Hi,

Just been looking on google to see how i can transfer from talktalk (too slow nowadays) for free and up popped a advert from a new company called TimeTalk.co.uk (thought it was talktalk at first as the ad is very clever!!)

They claim to offer broadband at £2.79 per month, so I have sent a web enquiry today and waiting to be contacted to see if they actually sell this package... I think the bandwidth limit is pretty low but I only use email and a few news websites - so it might be perfect for me.

If the deal is good might try it, cant be as bad as my current provider talktalk and IMO if a new company appears surely there internet pipe must be virtually empty and thus provide faster more stable broadband?

Anyways, thought I would let you know and maybe someone has a better idea than me if it is worth getting?

Regards

Ste

I thought you said you were with Sky, I assume it was your comment in the Sky congestion story?

If you look at timetalk website it says "TimeTalk is powered by Supanet". So presumably a Supanet reseller/visp or whatever. New or not, I would not expect a "virtually empty pipe". You can find some supanet reviews here:- http://www.ispreview.co.uk/review/products/255.html

I've never heard of TimeTalk.co.uk and frankly their website lacks information. I'd never trust a service that doesn't put basic and legally required postal addresses or T&C details on their website (you won't find us listing them until that changes). Also Supanet does not have the best reputation, frankly I'd consider keeping your distance.

As an alternative you should consider Primus but just remember, you get what you pay for, and IMO sub-£3 services will carry some risk.

That site contravenes so many regulations and laws it is amazing, I wouldn't even contact them.

hmmmm this is the 2nd time I have seen timetalk mentioned in the last 24 hours, both by new posters, one here and one on TBB.

The old Time computer logo gives me shudders.

Not exactly glowing reviews though, just mentions the price and that it is going live in a week; surely a spammer would pretend they already had the service and were very happy with it??

That would look even more like spam though, surely it would look more genuine to post as a question plugging the supposed benefits, you can then also post back either as the same person saying they've since signed up or as an existing customer, and say how brilliant it is. Although If the OP is trying to market their new ISP, I'd suggest they would do much better by posting as a reseller.

Not 100% sure if op is spam or not, although the post in the comments to the sky story, which were posted shortly before this, and say that, that person who shares a similar pseudonym(MasterMind55) has already signed up makes me just a wee bit suspicious ;).

From www.timegroup.co.uk:
TIME Products Sold By Granville Technology Group Ltd

Until July 2005, Granville Technology Group Ltd sold TIME branded products directly to UK consumers via websites, mail-order or trading as The Computer Shop. Granville went into Administration in July 2005. Until then Granville was the leading reseller of TIME branded products in the UK.

"101 ways to clean your toilet"

Did that include wiping it clean with £50 notes that you then flush away? It sounds a better use for the money than giving it to TimeTalk to me!

It amazes me still how many sites get put up without any contact details, apart from a redirecting 0800, with no company details, not even a company reg number.

And when it says "save up to £130", what is that based on? I assume talktalk, seeing as they mention TT countless times.

I did a quick Google on the phone number, and MasterMind shows up on other review sites: http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/telecommunications-services/timetalk-co-uk/

Steer clear of this one!

There's the same review on www.reviewcentre.com although perhaps they share reviews, but different posting date so I'd guess not. I guess ste must be a very satisfied ex-talktalk/ex-sky customer :)

More interestingly perhaps, is another reviewer/tweater promoting them, while no doubt it is just coincidence that he's also a Steven, and is also an ex-talktalk customer, and apparently also lives or works in burnley, but one of his other reviews here:- http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/Users/841419 suggest that just 5 months ago he was a new supanet customer, is an expert in all things marketing and communications with expert knowledge in the VoIP industry who has recently set up a new business, and his third review is for a business phone&internet provider tpad.com whose website is hosted on er... supanet. :o . Now the linked in profile of someone who just happens to share the same name makes interesting reading ... http://uk.linkedin.com/in/freevoipcallstpad (was with Time now with TPAD)

forgot to add this http://www.flickr.com/photos/tpad-sip-trunking-provider/6943526947/ "In 2010 Supatel entered into an agreement with Tpad to promote VOIP services across its base in return for Tpad to promote TimeTalk Business products across its customers."

Nobody escapes the watchful eye of a good internet investigation :) . Nice catch.

LOL as if investigating it further was needed. LOL

Its a shame really its fools like this which often lead people in avoiding new companies or small companies, when in the world of the internet many of the smaller ISPs are actually better when it comes to customer service. As they say it only takes one rotten apple ;)
Thankfully most of the time those apples though dont have enough sense to properly disguise their self promotion :D

Well, I was surprised by quite how much info came up from two or three quick google searchs, so I though I'd post.

And given that, the choice of pseudonym and expert at marketing claim made me grin:)

You really have to wonder what goes through their tiny minds, my god at least use a different name and pretend your experience is different each time LOL

They just don't give a **** that is quite clear, BB for sub £10.00 is obviously gonna be the pits, nevermind their ridiculas sub £3.00 offer, what's the data cap 1gb or something? and it's btw based too and that is supposed to me faster ? and we all came down in the last shower , who are these A**oles are they from Russia or some other communist state? or is some kind of sick joke ,

I always worry when i see companies registered in Cyprus.

Time Talk is a trading name of Supatel Ltd.
Registered address: STADYL Building, Corner Them.
