Tiscali doing an e7even?

I was with a broadband company called e7even that dipped into my account twice in a month before going bust. Tiscali have also dipped into my account twice and they reportedly owe millions upon millions of debt. I have shared my story on another forum. It was hilarious, with e7even, people even went to the police over this "theft" from customer accounts.

It is also a mystery how there is a forum bug affecting me logging in currently, to the Tiscali forums. It even more of a mystery since i logged in last year and started a thread in "legal", asking how i could sue Tiscali. It was guessed that Tiscali censor the forums, my experience could suggest the same.

Who has taken Tiscali or any of the names they operate under to (small-claims) court? Given their enormous debt, is there anything left for the court bailiffs? E7even was in such bad shape, OTELO couldn't even award the 200 quid or so they had been awarding prior to them collapsing.

If Tiscali took the money from your account without consent or as you say double payment. Then go to your bank / credit card company and claim cashback for fraudulent withdrawls.

If you are paying by direct debit you are covered by the DD guarantee, which means that the bank will give you yuour maney back straight away (you will need to be clear that you are only claiming 1 parment / month back).

It is then up to them to follow up with Tiscali.

I disputed with my CC co, but my CC company incorrectly disputed the first rather than the second payment. Tiscali then "only seeing" the first dip into my account, then charged my card twice again last month. I sent the General Manager of Tiscali, proof of the second dip. I wish I had never gone with Tiscali. I would rather pay BT more money and forget, knowing that they have automated systems in place. All the years i had proper ISP's i never had billing errors. Its only when i go for cheap deals like E7even and Tiscali that I have gotten my fingers burnt.

Outside of CC related action I think you should make complaints to the ISPA and Tiscali's official complaints handler, CISAS. You could also mail in a complaint to us:

http://www.ispreview.co.uk/new/complain/complain.shtml

If you include your username and clear permission (details on the page) then we can forward your problem on to a higher level of support management.

My complaint is now at General Manager Level and the next step is CISAS. I hope one of these days I don't try and access the internet and get the attention Tiscali customers, there is a problem with your internet connection.... as happened with E7Even.

Tiscali is too big for that to happen, at worse they'd call in the administrators first who would keep the business running while a buyer was found for its customers. To be fair their aren't many providers worse than Tiscali in the UK market so you're more likely to gain something than lose it :) .

Unsurprisingly the General Manager hasn't responded to me in the 7 working days I allotted Tiscali to respond. This is getting fun. Who has his/her email addy, they need to explain why Tiscali need to make unauthorised charges on my credit card. Where is the Tiscali rep on the forums?
