Tiscali is now capped at 30Gb

Interesting article on ADSLGuide saying that Tiscali have changed their T&C's so that a cap now exists at 30Gb at which point they will either restrict your usage or kick you off.

http://www.adslguide.org.uk/newsarchive.asp?item=2081

I'd love to know if users were advised of the change.

They have an add in the newspaper today for ADSL 1mb for £15.99, Unlimited Access in bold print and then at the bottom in very small print it says '2Gb data download restriction per month'

On their website they advise this account as 'Ideal if you use the Internet to download heavy files, and receive lots of photos, watch high quality video clips and participate in multi-player gaming. Or if you simply want a blistering fast broadband connection.'

What utter Bulls Balls !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think yourself lucky

I've migrated to the Czech Republic where Tiscali have been charging me about 25 quid a month for 512/128 ADSL. About 2 weeks ago my bandwidth fell to less than 7Kb/s; It has taken their support two weeks to tell me that I am in breach of thier fair use policy, because I have used 15GB in the last 30 days. They have pointed me to their FUP document which 'recommends' a 10GB limit on a service they advertise as unlimited. They don't offer to kick you off their network as an 'abuser' unfortunately, I am tied in to a 12 month contract with these jokers >:(

Maybe people will stop moaning about ntl's cap now. Get used to it. Your "fair share" of 50:1 contended 512k is under 15gig/month - so its rather generous infact.

...can't wait for pay per gig :D

When i joined Tiscrapi their website said if they think that we are overdoing it with downloads we will send u an email and tell u when u get 3 emails asking u to stop downloading so much they will disconnect u from the service. I think if an ISP changes their rules they should email u and tell u not just penalise us coz we dont now. Not every signs on to their site to get emails i use OE for that. But maybe they will but this is tiscrapi so no they wont but if they did it would be like their internet speed between 4pm and 11pm slow uk times

Personally, if I was with them and had a long time to go on the contract I'd leave my P2P running 24 hours until they kicked me off.

Thankfully, I'm not with them

Akbray if u was with them u would have a job using the P2P programs they block the ports between 4pm and 11pm uk time so u wont be able to get on. But yeah i now what ur say i only have 2 months left so i wish the next 2 months would pass quick
