Titan Has Died!

Just to let any ISP shoppers out there know - avoid Titan like the plague. Apparently, due to speed / reliability problems they chose to move there users from Entanet to Vispa. Oh dear! Back in a mo.....................hi again. Sorry, just popped off to check if a 4:00 youtube video was playable yet. It's nearly there now - only been waiting for 15 minutes so far!! Let me nip of to speedtest.com.............mmmmm very strange. 6.5Mb download speed????? Seems odd...........nope, You tube song is now about 80% loaded after 22 minutes!

Vispa seem to have cleverly disguised the fact thay they are rubbish. Speedtests are always very high, but in reality what you get is a disfunctional internet connection.

In short, I would only recommend Vispa (and Titan) for people who don't use the internet.

You have been warned.

Hi Mancmatt,

I moved your review to Titan because that is who you have your contract with, please don't review by supplier as that is not correct because of the different deals that can be in place. Also your Vispa review was placed in their Wireless Broadband category and not the land-line broadband service one. Thanks.

"Vispa seem to have cleverly disguised the fact thay they are rubbish."

They've done it VERY well then, since they sorted out the problems of taking on the Titan customers (it DID take a while), my speeds have returned to normal, both during the day, evening and my P2P from midnight.

Youtube vids are nearly always streaming faster than they play; although I am still getting a strange "hiatus" in my connection; however it is not as bad as it was during the "troubles" a month ago,and only occurs once/twice a day

Before Vispa Youtube vids ALWAYS streamed faster than they played.

"although I am still getting a strange "hiatus" in my connection; however it is not as bad as it was during the "troubles" a month ago,and only occurs once/twice a day"

With Enta it was NEVER bad and there were no "troubles".

If you wish to accept mediocrity that's fine. The fact is However that the switch to Vispa has made the service worse and Titan will without doubt lose customers.

Hi Mark,

Regarding your comment

"I moved your review to Titan because that is who you have your contract with"

I appreciate what you are saying but in this instance I do not entirely agree. Having to set-up a direct debit with Vispa immediately forms the basis of a contract. Billing and support issues are channelled directly to Vispa and any mail that I receive comes directly to me from Vispa.

It is indeed Vispa and not Titan who are now threatening to "disrupt" my connection because they have not bothered to claim the direct debit that I set-up on my Vispa control page weeks ago.

If, as you state that my contract is only with Titan, then surely only Titan should have the power to terminate my connection.

I tend to be honest, are you?
There are ALWAYS times when a vid will not stream; it may be an ISP network issue, it may be a vid server issue, it may be somewhere inbetween causing a blockage.

I have been online a LONG time, and with a number of different companies and products, AND NONE OF THEM ARE PERFECT.

Vispa have had reliability issues over the years (mostly email related), but overall their service/tech support has been better than anyone I have been with since Cloud9 bit the dust.

"Now I know you are lying"

Frankly I don't care what you think. This forum is for ISP complaints and problems - not for fan-boys!

Unless, with your vast knowledge and experience you can tell me how to make Vispa actually work like BB and not dial-up, I'd rather you say nothing.

Especially not the mindless babbling excuses that you have come out with so far:

"it may be an ISP network issue, it may be a vid server issue, it may be somewhere inbetween causing a blockage"

Firstly "ISP Netork issues" are exactly the problem! I don't pay good money for them! Secondly, just how can you explain (based on your other reasons), how the other Broadband connection in my house (with BT) will stream simultaneously to my laptop exactly the same youtube video, at exactly the same time of day infinately faster than my Vispa connected Desktop?

Same house, same video, same time, same exchange different ISP...........need I go on?

As an ex-Titan customer, my advice is get out now! Everything about Vispa is pure Amateur Night.

Vispa didn't bother taking my DD's - and had the gall to threaten me with Court action for an incorrect billing amount - and after only one request for payment that did not provide a billing summary!

Doubtless, their 'Sales Department' is James Ormerod, their 'Technical Support' is James Omerod, their 'Billing' department is James Ormerod, and their 'Legal Department' is...yes, you've guessed it...also James Ormerod :smilet:

Their ''Cock Everything Up' department is probably James Ormerod, too.

I very much hope that their 'Take An Unwinnable Case To Court' department is also headed by the extremely busy James Ormerod, because I'd quite like to meet him.
