SpaceX is targeting Friday, May 13 for a Falcon 9 launch of 53 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The instantaneous launch window is at 3:07 p.m. PT, 22:07 UTC.

The first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, DART, and two Starlink missions. Following stage separation, Falcon 9's first stage will return to Earth and land on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship stationed in the Pacific Ocean.

Starlink launch time again folks, the usual 53 satellites being launched.

I'll add the live stream link later when it becomes available. 😊

I wonder how many capable birds they need before laser enabled links are viable?
Good question, there must be quite a lot of the laser enabled birds up there now.:unsure:

Presuming that all the 53 bird launches, all the craft are laser capable? Haven’t done the sums but it must be a decent chunk of the overall constellation

Yes you'd think so Pheasant.

They’re having a barbie on Sunday and work from home on Monday. Then back to the pad for Wednesday 😜😂
Wouldn't surprise me one bit Pheasant. 😁

Friday = Vandenberg, CA
Saturday = Cape Canaveral, FL
Wednesday = Kennedy Space Center, FL

I wonder if they have an inter-teams comp. 😎

Live Starlink Launch

Hi folks, it's been a little while since we had some new Starlinks sent to visit their friends up in space, but it's that time again.

Just the usual post in case anyone wants to watch.

Launch isn't until tomorrow (Friday) at 3.45 pm, so keep calm until then. :giggle:

It's interesting to note that the starlink reddit forum seems to be full of complaints lately. Increase in pings, several outages, large speed drops. It seems most of them are not in Europe though. It would be really cool to find out what it's like in Europe right now.

One commenter in a thread said something that stood out. That rural users were praising it, and people in cities without good broadband were not as impressed. Stands to reason I suppose.
