Trooli 2Gb worth it?

I tried to ping the same DNS as you and it just freezes so i have to refresh the page to clear it.

Not sure if i mentioned but it worked fine with the old Technicolor router.

I'll try disabling v6 later when everyone has finished as i suspect the router will reboot.

Did you just select IPV4 only under the general, mode instead of dual stack?

Ah, just spotyted an "IPV6 Active' toggle under Home Networking so ill disable that as well.

Its a pain really as i have a few clients that work very well with it enabled.
I wouldn't read into the ipv6 settings too much, I think the router is just left on defaults. The router is only set to give out ipv6 internal forwarding addresses. Trooli does not appear to have any ipv6 support yet.
You can test it properly here.

Yeah normally i would agree but we had IPV6 up and running on the old Technicolor router they handed out for their 1Gig connections.

So like you say, apart from the connections login details, the router is left in factory default modes.

It picks up a V6 address from them, and after enabling DHCPv6 it all shows as working, but just cant see the outside world for some reason!

hmm.. ok, I've held off on enabling it on the Ubiquity.. as the connection is stable.. but I'll try it. Do you know the prefix delegation size should be?

edit.. 56 works!

Yeah all working. DHCPv6.. prefix 56. working, tested 17/20 in on this one https://ipv6-test.com/

Definitely a problem with that Zyxel

ipv6 hurts my head.. some one please correct me if I'm wrong. But I think /128 is too high. The / is how many bits are used by that address space. Address space being 192.168.1.1 -> 192.168.1.255 in old money,... So '128' is all the bits and literally 1 IP address.... so if your router has one address, it can't 'route'.. anything to your other devices, it's just a device itself.
So your router needs to be given an address space that has a number of addresses in it for all the down chain devices that might route through it... So I put in the 'prefix' /56 for the router and my computer has a /64 address.. down stream it's 'with' the address space of /56 bits that the router can use...

.. I think.. !

Update!! Got ipv6 working on the Zyxel. Try exporting your config file under Maintenance, Backup/Restore, and upload it again. Wait 2 or 3 minutes.

(Yes, Trooli does support ipv6. The technicolor handled it fine).

I don't quite know what fixed it - but:

I wanted to edit some other settings that I couldn't find in the Zyxel GUI, as I use a couple of Raspberry Pis on my network. I exported the router settings, edited the config file, re-uploaded it in the Zyxel gui.
While I was in the config file I removed a chunk where I'd accidentally added a static ipv6 address (oops) under "IPv6Address":[ ..... Origin:Static so i removed that.

Now ipv6 works!

Under WAN inferface, every setting on the bottom 4 boxes is ON or Automatic except Fullcone NAT (off)
Under LAN, ipv6 active, EUI64, EUI64, MLD Active/Standard, Stateless, DCHP&RA, Proxy, Proxy, Proxy.

Not saying these settings are right, but they work.

I now have ipv6 working. To the best of my knowledge, exporting the settings and restoring them in the Zyxel maintenance settings - that's fixed it for me. I rebooted or reconnected the devices to refresh the device IPs.

Pretty much every ipv6 setting under WAN/LAN is on Active, ON, or automatic.

Did you reset the Router to factory settings?

Just seems odd that backing up, then restoring the same config would get it working?

Plus, all of those settings you said about are all as you have them except.

My IPV6 address from Trooli ends in /128 so i dont know how to change that as its dhcp?

Even if i disable it, and then renable it, it comes back with /128

Actually what PD do you get on the WAN IPV6?

I did NOT reset the router before importing the same settings. I didn't want to rely on waiting for the TR-069 autoconfig to do its thing.

Working with a WAN /128 (DHCP) and a LAN /64 auto configured.

Well, i just downloaded a back up, re-uploaded it and still no joy.

I am just wondering if its an Apple issue but both laptop and phone get v6 addresses.

I am still wondering if this a routing issue their end.

Well, as an update to this, got fed up and put the Technicolor router back in and although its limited to 1gb, it performs so much better and i have IPV6 back.

Over the years i have never rated Zyxel gear and so from my basic deductions, having been 'forced' to use it, it is either a very poor router, or i have a faulty unit.

Another waste of time call to Trooli on Monday then as the routing is still not great regardless.
