Trooli Roll out

So a few months ago Trooli started their network build in our village but they seem not to be able to provide it to my part of the street I asked them why I got this

So, with any joint user poles we need to apply for a licence from the UK power network in order for us to mount our equipment on them and to allow our engineer to climb them.

When we attempt to attain these licenses unfortunately it can take quite some time to get them. I understand this can be frustrating, we to find it frustrating as we would like to serve as many people as possible but in many cases such as this, we are unable to do so.
are there reasons they can't use the pole that BT uses like they are doing with all the other houses in my area?

or is it owned by UK power networks?

Thanks, Jamie

This sounds like an infrastructure sharing agreement with an existing pole deployed by UK Power Networks. Anything involving electricity requires both extra training and caution for engineers, thus there's more red tape to sign off before you can actually run the fibre.

Some areas may be a mix of pole ownership, so it's not always a simple matter. Plus, it's generally better to harness that which already exists than to build new poles if they aren't strictly necessary.

Whilst the pole you have shared a picture of looks like it's just telecoms, perhaps they need to use some UKPN poles to get to that location?

It seems like a reasonably decent response you have had from Trooli, if you can't see where the UKPN poles are that might impact getting to your pole, it probably wouldn't hurt to write back and just point out what you have observed in the streets between where you live from where they have currently deployed.

Thanks for the replys the cables from my pole look like they come from another pole much the same tho it looks like the cables come from the ground at that pole I will send them another email with some picks in hope they can use them

I suggest you do a map which shows where you think trooli have their fibre already installed and then pics of all the poles to you think they might use to get to your address making it easy for trooli to understand where each pole is on the map... and also make passing comment about the situation further down the street or adjacent streets that are not get trooli enabled - trooli will want to serve as many properties as possible, not just you ;) If there is more scope there is more chance they'll send a surveyor out.

I've sent an email on Saturday minus the map were like an offshoot of the main street I guess with just 8 properties over the two poles so I'm guessing were not that viable

just to update this I've had a reply from Trooli that they are looking to use the power line poles in the rear of my property and not the BT ones out the front I've asked why my guess is the power poles would reach more houses
