UK ADSL ISP that takes PayPal ...?

Hi All

[POP] 1st post cherry popping ... :D

I've been with Pipex for a couple of years now and due to certain financial problems [cough], I won't be able to continue with my account ...

Can anyone recommend a decent UK-based company where I can get a bog standard 512/256 ADSL connection which I can pay for via PayPal?

I've looked on the lists and found a couple - but just thought I'd ask here too in case someone has a recommendation ...

Many thanks in advance ...

Nick

P.S. Apologies if this is in the wrong forum - it sort-of looked OK to me ... ;)

Hi Nick,

I’m not sure, but doesn’t PayPal require you to top up your account via credit or debit card?

Even though you are suffering from poor credit, your bank should still be able to offer you a Direct Debit service. Most companies I am sure can take the first payment via cheque, which again your bank may offer you. Some banks will be able to offer you a payment card in the form of Solo or Visa Electron, it may be worth asking.

If it did get to the point where your account was taken off you, you do have some options left. I do not know what sort of financial situation you are in, so I will try and cover several angles.

• If you have been declared bankrupt, certain banks have special accounts available. From memory I believe the Royal Bank of Scotland can provide these.
• Approach another Bank, they may be willing to open you up an account.
• Splash Plastic – May be worth contacting them, you can pay your money over any PayPoint shop counter. You are provided with a card, that can be used with many on-line retailers.

I must stress I am not qualified in this field, just general knowledge I have acquired over the years. You have many options available to you, most of which will help you rebuild your credit file.

I hope the above information has helped.

There are a few that would allow you to send a cheque in, B.T are pretty good aswell.

I use unmetered dialup with UK Online and pay through Paypal with credit card.
http://www.ukonline.net They are part of Easynet group

I assume that you can do the same with BB. though I cant find anywhere on the site that says so. Ive found them really good as a provider, but Im about to move to BB with someone else because of cost.
