Unlock from O2 PAYG?

It's a Sagem myX-7 can't be unlocked remotely. I'd prefer to get the code from O2, failing that I found a unlocker who can do it for £15 - has to be dismantled to hook up the circuit board to the pirate version of this http://www.sagmaster.com/ device.

I only bought it because Woolies had it on extra special :D offer last month - ended up costing 14 quid. I'd like to transfer it to Virgin since my family are on it - hopefully they're still doing the glue offer (Virgin mobile users can buy a sim For £10 with £5 credit on it and have £10 added to their airtime balance)

Most Sagem phones can not be unlocked remotely and require hardware or sim unlock/block done via the provider.

EDIT: Considering that phone is a bit old, if O2 wont do it for free/next to nothing id save the £10-20 its likely to cost to get it unlocked at a small shop etc and shove it towards a new phone. You can get a cheap android phone now for around £50. Most from CPW are also unlocked out of the box so you can use any network.

There was a spam posted before him that tried one of those "legitimate post" things, as usual it was a guy on Airtel in india and I banned them so it looks like t4f's post was the last one when it wasn't :) .

Oh Yes it was !
But despite the "logic failure" I know what you meant....

There is a problem though:
If you fully delete spam post then the above can happen.
If you just delete the spam text, but leave 'spam deleted' post then we think there is a new post and go to read it...

Answers on a postcard to Mark J...
OK email will do ;-)

I would normally fully delete but t4f had already posted and his wasn't spam. Ah the life of forum moderation, never a dull moment.. well actually..

Goodness, that old phone! I think I used it for about a year or two, never bothered to unlock it because: A. I didn't like it that much, and B. it played up in the very lightest drop of rain. Then O2 disabled the SIM, presumably because I hadn't used it enough, and they didn't even wait anywhere close to the 6 months or whatever their then allotted time then was since the last chargeable call to block it, so I only found while I was out trying to get a lift home. I haven't used O2 since. It made a good alarm clock though
